Location : Temple of Lastrix Vell, Valley of the Dark Lords, Korriban, Horuset System
Time : 0200 hrs
I, Kilvane Frost, have come to the planet Korriban, formerly Pesegam, on the cusp of a great war. The 370 is on the valley floor, hidden by the cloaking mechanism; I want no interference from the Deathron...or worse. Datalog records reference dark beasts said to reside here and the ships sensors - as well as my own - have picked up life readings in the surrounding mountains.
I have come to the temple of Lastrix Vell, the Lord and Lady of the Nyhlus, to swear my allegiance and further my training. It appears to have stood for centuries and datalog records identify it as the Temple of The Moon, though Korriban has 7 so to which moon it refers I remain uncertain.
There are droids everywhere. I didn't see a command ship on my entry but the Manta's sensors picked up a reading on the far side of the planet. They have the model numbers of common battle droids yet they carry no weapons; only tools.
The temple may be ancient but renovations are underway. There are cables running along the floor and the hum of electronics is audible. The temple has no artificial light sources; it's roof is open to the sky and lit by the innumerable starts and that golden moon.
"It is called Shor Daed'Lai, bounty hunter," Lastrix spoke. "Yes, I can read even your thoughts, cyborg though you are... I sense great power in you... and a greater mind. For that is where true power lies... in knowledge of the force. In knowledge of the Dark Side."
She is in my mind... I must allow it...
"No, you must embrace it if you are to call me Master."
"Yes, Master."
"That is good... I feel your acquiescence. Korriban's other moons have regular orbits, but Shor Daed'Lai passes the Temple of the Moon once every three years and that is why you have come before me now."
"To swear fealty to me under the light of the Golden Moon."
"It is so, my Master."
"It was not a question, bounty hunter... or should I say, "acolyte"?"
Not "apprentice"?
"Perhaps, in time. For now you must trust me before I can trust you; for while I can see your mind I cannot see your future. That is the only thing hidden to me... yes, I see all that transpires in the force... and I feel a great disruption."
"I feel it, too, my Master."
"The Deathron are growing in power, surrendering to the might of Darth Rasst, and we have little time."
"It was once customary for a Sith Lord to choose his or her apprentice's name but as you know I have many pupils. For now you shall be known as Darth Kilvane... in the light of Shor Daed'lai we form this pact... rise, my young acolyte... there is much work to be done."
