I started this ambitious spaceship project a year or two ago to try and build a well planned out spaceship that actually has all the amenities and features a reasonable sci fi ship would need to work. I went for ducting in the walls, electrical wiring and plumbing in the floors... and I went for playability too with liftable /separatable sections, and strength of build in mind for actual eventual construction. All of this went pretty well until digital designer went haywire and stopped saving changes. Plus... I realized I had let the interior considerations impact the exterior design far too much and I wasn't happy with the look! Hopefully my next project will meet the design intent in a much smoother package :)
About this creation
Some design notes that I'm particularly happy with:
-crazy warp field generators... or sensors... or whatever the ring of dishes around the bridge module are.
-The working landing gear
-The bridge layout... but not so much the computers
-The engine design which was inspired by another MOC
-The interior appointments - beds, bathrooms, showers etc.
-The air locks and bridges between ship sections
Anyway, I love spaceships and this was a really great project to start wetting my chops on large spaceship moc design. I have a long ways to go before I consider it "good" by any stretch of the means. But I learned a lot and I'll take some of the best stuff to my next project!
