About this creation
This is the MocAthalon 2013 entry for Team Theocracy.
Category:
21. Will It Float?
Several years ago, Dave Kaleta challenged his students to build floating creations.
http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/195480
Now, the challenge is passed on to you. Build the biggest and/or best looking floating creation you can manage. You must provide a picture of the object maintaining position above the water line, aka floating.

The Psycho Isle
We're in the year 2035. The public doesn't allow the psychos to walk free around, so they have to live on a Isle, far away in the ocean. On each "Psycho Isle" can live 6 psychos, but currently there are only three on this, so there's still place for more. These three guys living there are...
...Oh, I think I better tell you later ;).

So now, to our three friends...
First, we have Thoy, the tiny Freshwater Crocodile!

Then, there's also Chris the Chimpanzee!

And at least, Rufus the Rabbit!

And here are the pics of it floating:

The construction is made out of this (inverted) and then added the isle on it, that's basically all of the trick. The problem about is, that it doesn't holds too much weight, means I only could add a few parts and had to leave it by only having one tree (did you note the vines climbing it? ) and some minifigs on it.
This was a lot of fun to do and I hope that at least 3 of you 6 judges like it ;P.

I was thinking of techniques to use for this category. You have used the obvious one, and most likely it will be the most common one. I have thought of two other techniques which are harder to pull off but show depth in engineering. This looks great. 5 points. ~Thoy |

Wow, that island looks pretty big so the fact that it floats is quite impressive. =) |

Looks like that island weighs a lot, so good for you getting it to float! 5 points. |

And you thought putting me in a bunny suit would improve your score how? Haha, 4 points. And it's the same score as your better build because this is a tougher category. |

Pretty clever idea! Nice usage of pieces, especially considering you were limited by weight. |

Aww, I was thinking of doing a similar build! COOL! |

Wow, thanks man! I didn't expect to get the same score as on my other (in my opinion much better) build ( http://mocpages.com/moc.php/355403).
