25. Just teach it!
Pick a subject matter, and break it down in Lego form. Explain mitosis, trigonometry, or the the theory of relativity, for example. You can use humor or shoot straight, just make sure you got the facts right!
Welcome to the gym. Today we will be learning about love. You’re Albert Brickson, a hardworking man, on your 3rd year out of college with a steady job. …And you’re a very eligible bachelor. You’re always on the lookout for the perfect person and—Oh! Looks like we have one… Right about now you’re experiencing a fluttering in your chest and your muscles start tensing. Don’t be alarmed, this is just a common case of love-at-first-sight. The woman heads to the treadmills and you prepare to make your move. You feel a rush of manly hormones and a sly smile spreads across your face. You are confident. Confidence is always important, don’t forget this. You saunter over to the treadmills going over all the pick-up lines you’ve rehearsed.
Albert: “Hmm...How’s it going? Did it hurt when you fell from heaven? Have you seen this beach ball?...” Action!
Albert: “Hey there, my name’s Albert.”
Not bad, but be careful. A girl’s not going to be interested in a blank sheet. Make sure you elaborate later.
Girl: “Oh hi, I’m Lisa.”
Good, good. Now--
Albert: “So, you come here often?”
Lisa: “Oh, this is actually my first team. You?”
Albert: “Every day, girl.” But in your haste to impress, you accidently turn the treadmill onto full blast!
Albert: “AAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!” Well now you’ve done it. You’ve managed to wreak the building and make a complete fool of yourself. You’ll be lucky to pull yourself out of this one. But in the end you actually manage to get her number Congratulations, you've survived a day. Now it’s time for your first date.
Alright, you’ve set up your first date. Time to pick her up! Try to arrive on time, or a few minutes late, but never early. You don’t want to blow it now, you’ve only just begun. Ever since you’ve met her you haven’t been able to think about anything else. Don’t worry this is normal, just try to think about other things once in a while too. You’re approaching her door. Remember! Confidence!” You’re at her steps…point of no return…
You’ve pushed the doorbell! This is it! But oh no! You’re having second thoughts! Don’t worry, nervousness is perfectly normal, just try to stand your ground!
Albert: “Aaaah. What do I do? What do I say? Oh no! Oh no!”
Albert: “Aaah! Oh, er...”
Albert: “I brought you some flowers.”
Lisa: “Oh how sweet, thank you!” Nice move, but don’t get too cocky. She hasn’t made up her mind about you yet, this is just a test run so play it smooth. You’re at the restaurant now. Everything is going well. You’re getting to really know each other and you’re finding that you two have very similar interests. She seems to enjoy you as well. Well done! This just might work! You’ll have a hard time sleeping tonight, but good luck!
Well, you’re on your second date now! You won’t be needing my assistance much longer, but remember, there’s still an opportunity that this could fall through. Use caution…and confidence!
Rough looking dude: “What?”
I loved the clever aspects of the build - the thought bubble and forced perspectice were the best two - and the story was funny. I didn't expect a "Just Teach It" MOC to be a tutorial, but hey, it works. 4 points for a strong presentation.
