For the 2013 Mocathalon category 3. Alien Landscape.
Is it barren? Are the rivers green, gold or pink? Do the trees grow upside down? Do the Aliens walk around like they are constantly doing the limbo? These are all ideas. Build us your version of an alien landscape. This one is all about beauty 'outside the box'.
"I've landed on the Bulge. The terrain seems desolate is there anything you can tell me about this lunar moon. Over."
" Uh. You do know that 'Lunar Moon' is redundant don't you, Captain. Over."
"I knew it was a mistake to stop talking. Well, I think your environmental readouts sent us on a mad gander chase. There's no sign of life on this crust."
..."Is that an over, Captain?
"Yes its an over. Over."
And yet, there was a slight tremor under Captain Bernard's boots that told him he was missing something.
Ah well. A shower and a mug of chocolate back at base will settle his nerves.
Was that outside the box enough for you? The idea to twist build the lush greenery growing on the inside of the rough crust of the planet came from a geode. A geode looks just like a rock until you hit it with a hammer and break it open to reveal the sparkling gems inside. When I was a little guy, I sometimes wondered whose idea it was to hit a rock with a hammer and discovered geodes.
Captain Bernard won't be the one to discover the Geode Planet.
