No one fails quite the way Laurel and Hardy do. Here's my nod to comedy genius!

As I went to post this I realise I totally missed the 16x16 constriction - oh well, I'll take the docked points. If you are going to mess up, you might as well do it in this category :)

So absolutely clear who is being depicted here. That subtle little mustache just over Oliver's mouth really sets this thing off. So necessary, of course, but also makes the work instantly recognizable.

A classic, in terms of the scenario, the chracters and your building style. It looks very simple but it must take very careful selection of the bricks to achieve the right shapes and proportions.

Hahahaha, instantly recognizable. I love the angles you built here in that it is still your classic flat designs, yet it feels as though they are pictures on a book popping out and to life. Wonderful. Great work David :)

Quoting Nick Brick I wish I could give you bonus points for failing to build in the constraints! Oh well, you get 2 points.
As long as it made you laugh I'm happy to take the penalty. Thanks Nick.

Thanks judges, that seems very fair. I was anticipating penalties, so really no hard feelings. Glad you like Laurel and Hardy though, despite baseplate size issues.

As much as I would love to give it a higher score, I don't think it fair to other builders to give it more than a 2. Sorry mate :-/

I appreciate your honesty about the 16x16 issue. Reminds me of last year when I built a full-fledged story for the St. Patty's Day category. I'm going to give a 3 as well.

David, the build is great but you're correct, we do have to dock points for the size thing. Being as this would have been in between a four and five from me had the size been correct, I'm going with 3 points. ~ Chris.

I realised only to late, I should simply of added it to the lipstick category, and all would have been well - oh well.
