Custom build UCS Millennium Falcon with LEDS
Well, this is what I've been up too lately. After some more failures in attempting to build a large scale Star Destroyer, my best friend gave me the idea to build the UCS Millennium Falcon. And voilà, after two weeks of building this is the result. I was completely stunned by the scale and details on this thing, no wonder it is the best Lego Star Wars set ever. It is completely build with parts I owned. All the Falcon sets that came out since 1999 are in this thing next to some other parts I collected over the years. From the start of this build, I played with the idea of putting some LEDS in there as well. Hope you enjoy! Please rate and comment.
About this creation
Sideview:

Some of the added details I put on this thing:

Rearview: This is an idea I've got from Matt De Lanoy's A.K.A Pepa Quin Millennium Falcon. ( So all credit to him!) I didn't like the rear section of the UCS version and it also made it difficult to put some LEDS in there. I like it far more better now since it looks like the Falcon in the movies.

Close Up of the cockpit with computers from the latest Falcon set:

Top rear view: Since i didn't own black radar dishes, this was the perfect solution: black radiator grilles =) I have to admit that I was a bit scared of how this would turn out, but it's not to bad. I dont't know if you noticed, but I also put in lots of old dark grey and old light grey pieces in this build. Why? well since the original set came out in new light grey it made it look to "new" In the movies it is referred to lots of times as an old junker so that's why I did it, just to make it look older.

Underside:

Other sideview with boardingramp:

Rear with LEDS turned on: Even in the dark this is a stunner. All the LEDS in this thing are power function LEDS, so no lifelights or custom fabricated stuff.

As you can see only the top row of light is alluminated since I didn't have more LEDS, but I've ordered some. It will be ok in a few days.

Front with LEDS: As you can see it is safe to say that " I've made a lot of special modifications myself" The front plates were the transparent radar dishes are put on, are custom build by me to accept the LEDS.

Thx, I really like the way this turned out with all the different colours grey ;)
Quoting McKay Brooks I love the mix of old gray pieces with new. It really does give it that patchwork feel of the Falcon.

Whoah! Incredible!!! Need I say more? The fact you built this with your own pieces, and the added details make this one of my favorite MOCs EVER!

Quoting Emil Storm This is amazing! I am actually not much for SW moc's (I love the movies and love Lego, so go figure...), but this thing caught my eye. Absolutely beautiful! Does it have an interior as well?
No, it does not have an interior because of all the wiring inside.

Thank you very much. I'm currently working on a large scale Venator and for the moment everything is going smootly. Hope that it stays that way ;)
Quoting omega (rich) awesome moc. thats a great ucs falcon you've built there! but i think your being to hard on yourself. i think you have the potential to build a super star destroyer, you just need some time to come up with solutions to the obstacles that kept you from finishing it.

Wow that's all I can say. I'm very surprised to see the creations that have popped up since I've been gone. I love your moc and wish i had the pieces, patience, and time you had to make this.

Quoting M<0><0>DSWIM ! "She might not look like much, but she's got it where it counts." I think this is actually a vast improvement over the official model. Great work!
Thx so much for the comment! To build a complete ultimate falcon, it should be slightly bigger so I have more room to hide the wiring and to add a full interior, but i like the way it is for now.

Quoting Josh O. Interior?
It has the standard "technic beams interior" With all the wires running trough the ship, it was impossible to build and accurate interior as well

Quoting Ed Satterthwaite wow thats amazing. the hyperdrive is so realistic. how many LED's did you use and where did you put the battery box?
I used 16 power functions LEDS (since they are always per 2 there are 32 LEDS in it) The batterybox is housed underneath the radardish.

Quoting Raymond Drum Absolutely amazing!!! I have never seen any version of the Falcon like this. The mixing of the different color pieces you did to give it an actual well used appearance is spectacular! The LEDS... Brilliant idea! No pun really intended there, or maybe it was. My only real question is how does it appear on the inside now with the outside modifications?
The interior is like the original UCS set: technic beams. The only difference is it has all the cables running trough the whole ship as well :)

So much this! Being a big Star wars fan, I've always wanted to see an accurate model of the Falcon! I never had the bricks to build it myself, but you did it better than I could ever have. AWESOME

Quoting søren johansen Great build. Did You buy the lights from www.lifelites.com? They make LED solutions for Lego creations:-)
No, I used only LEDS from Lego powerfunctions. I've considered Lifelites though.
