Big But Little Quarry Truck
A Minifig scale articulated tipping quarry truck, designed with the phrase 'City Expert Builder' in mind.
About this creation

Gotta love the big yellow stuff... this is 11 studs wide, features working steering using the articulated joint in the middle, working tipper, opening doors and bonnet and suspension (sort of..)

It's intended to sit in the same 'City Expert Builder' range as my previous Big Mining Truck - which you can support on Cuusoo.

It's got a V8, 'cos V8s are good...

Tipper works pretty well, via the grey gear on the side.

The front axle is pendular, the rear wheels are mounted on tilting bars at each side - not really proper suspension, but it gives the illusion of it.

Bear in mind this IS the same scale as a 5 or 6-wide Minifig car, then get out of it's way...

And it will get out of the mining truck's way...

I like how much of this is built from "proper" bricks and not modern big chunks. The bucket on the back has some great angles and looks very smooth nonetheless. I also like all of the functionality that you've crammed into this mini-fig scale build and how that's achieved with "proper" cogs and racks. I've supported your big truck on Cuussoo but I wonder if models of this size might be a bit more realistic price-wise to be issued as a Lego kit?

Good old rack and pinion mechanisms ! The tilting rear suspension bars remind me of the arrangement on a model I used to have from the Lego space range - 6295 from 1988 according to Peeron - great application. Very well styled as well !

Its size is very deceptive, at almost makes the other one look small somehow. I don't understand XD, my head hurts now. Anyway I love it and yes V8s are great.
