About this creation
The Cocoa Hotel.

I was inspired by old postcards depicting holiday sight and scenes. These were not always the most realistic but portrayed locations in a colourful and cheerful way.

I made it open-backed to allow easy access to the interior.

Downstairs there is a lobby, lounge and bar with veranda. The top two floors have 4 suites with individual bathrooms.

These last two pictures I was messing with the Huw but thought I would include them anyway! :)

Comments welcome!

There are now instructions available for purchase if you wish to replicate the build here I am not the ebay seller or instructions designer, but gave my permission in this instance.

Quoting Matt W. Great color usage! Maybe a few more storys would add to it, but then again you may not want it to be too big...
Thanks! It's based on the 3-storey standard found in many hotels in Miami beach.

Quoting tom kozlowski Andrew T, Your art deco styles are excellent replicas of the buildings on South Beach, Collins Ave. Your creations are so unique. Have you every made instructions or part lists for any of them. Many people would certainly pay a decent dollar for any of your creations plans. I know I would. tomkoz@comcast.net
Thanks! There are instructions available, I do not design or sell them but they are a very accurate representation of the build and are sold with my permission. They come with a bricklink parts list I think. There is a link below the pictures.

Wow, most impressive! I like how smooth everything is, and the colour scheme's perfect. Always great to see an interior as well, especially when it's as well done as this one.

Quoting TheLegoNoitAll . Really cool! in my town there actually is a Cocoa Hotel :) the sign looks similar, but not the decor
Really, what town is this? I chose a separate vertical sign rather than one on the building as I thought it would give me a little more creative freedom.

Quoting Steve Parmley Once again a very inspirational build. The details and use of elements is superb! You give me something to shoot for as a builder. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! It's much easier to build something you have a keen interest in, mine being art Deco!

Quoting matt rowntree Spectacular in every way possible! The first thing I thought of when I saw this were those grainy postcards from the 50's. You nailed the architecture and the colors. Pure Miami or Havana! I can bet that every drink in the bar has an umbrella. Absolutely stunning!
Thanks! The trouble is there was so much choice in deciding which hotel to try and replicate! Thanks
