The Brickville Union presents it's newest railgun device. The Wilhelm MAC, or mass acceleration cannon. It's one of the largest coilgun based weapons in the known world.
About this creation
The idea behind the Wilhelm is nothing new, even so, an older model of the gun is used on the BU Gertrüde super heavy railgun devices. Link here: http://mocpages.com/moc.php/294288.
But unlike the Gertrüde, the Wilhelm is (semi) stationary. The Wilhelm is ment as a base/border defence weapon. It can deal with any land vehicle, is also able to provide artillery support, and can in theory shoot down an airship. Ofcourse the're some flaws, but those can be overlooked...right?
You may notice that it's powered by eight(!) super charged batteries. These are needed to fire a projectile, since that requires enormous ammounts of energy. Also a new loading mechanism which loads faster than the Gertrüde's loading device was added.
The idea for a stationary "Gertrüde device" has been spooking my mind ever since I've made the Gertrüde a year back. However other projects and life came in the way. I still wanted to make it, due to the benefits of LDD I've made it via that program. And yes, it was modelled after the MAC from HALO ;)
