Martian Space Walker
Classic Space, done my way.
About this creation
You want Classic Space, I give you Classic Space. Of course, you should've seen it coming that it would be nowhere near the norm of CS. So, I present to you, my CS Martian walker.

The Martian Space Walker. Affectionately named The Rescue Dog, The Rock Runner, The Off-Roader, The Scout, and a myriad of other names by their trained pilots and crew. It is a personal favorite mode of transport among space cadets, and rightly so. The walker was designed to travel at high speeds on rocky surface. The high impact leg design allows it to able to walk up steep inclines and climb up rocky mountains with relative ease and maneuverability, even in low or high gravity.

The walker has a myriad of uses, often accompanying near every exploration mission that can afford it. It can serve as a scout, running ahead to check the landscape and for possible dangers. It can serve as a fast messenger between teams in the field. And it serves very well in helping with samples.

It's more common use however, is serving as a fast mode of rescue to teams in trouble. These walkers have been to dig out equipment or people, push or pull equipment and rovers around, and even to bring out necessary supplies. Packs and other attachments can be put on these walkers to help them serve their purposes better.

It comes standard with a bucket hand and a multipurpose claw, though it isn't unheard of for pilots to make modifications to suit their wishes. Given that each trained pilot is assigned their own walker that only they and those on their crew use, they do like to personalize their walkers with upgrades or better equipment.

Arm modifications are most common on these mechas, though upgrades to the legs are not unheard of and are often done out of necessity in preparation for certain missions.

Many pilots find a true love for these walkers and more often than not "live" in them, only getting out of them when they actually have to. Because of their multipurpose uses, any licensed pilot can take use these walkers whenever they feel the need to. They are often used for recreational purposes as well. Races, personal exploration, and even the occasional golf game are not unheard of forms of recreation with these machines.

The most popular form of recreation with these walkers, however, is using them for wrestling. This form of recreation is frowned upon by those higher up, but is greatly enjoyed by the cadets, crew and pilots alike. Because any damages done to the walkers come out of the pilot's own pocket, the higher ups often turn a blind eye to the arena matches when they find out about them. Bets are often placed on these matches and a great much entertainment is found by all watching or competing. Our intrepid pilot here is showing us a classic defense maneuver, using the bucket arm as a shield.

With a quick successive strike after blocking, these battles often test the skills of the pilots and the abilities of the walkers, but have been known to have given birth to the best upgrades and modifications now used as a standard.

Whether used for recreation or specific "by the books" use, these mechas are well loved and prized favorite both by pilots and exploration teams as a whole.

A view inside the cockpit.

And that's all.

Creator's Comments: Good lord I loved building that. Thank you David, for getting me to build this. Had a lot of fun with it.
Now... you asked me to do CS. My system skills, suck. So I did CS the only way I really could, with a bio-based mecha. Quite happy with the results too. :D
I'd encourage my fellow bio builders to give this type of thing a shot if you haven't already. It's kinda fun :)

Anyway, that's all. Carry on.

It's all about style! This is a wonderful platform to grow and expand with. CS, I guess, has some rules to define it, but I think the most important is to expand your mind and have fun doing it. This little guy, and the backstory, show that you've done just that! Kudos.

Fantastic! However, the right arm looks thin compared to the [very well executed] legs.

Quoting David Alexander Smith Been off-line for a few days, and wow look what turned up! This is fantastic Gale. The tipper arm is perfect and pure CS. The mix of bio and system pieces seems fairly well matched. You fulfilled all my expectations.
Thanks David, glad you like it :) I do believe I'll be trying this again in the future.

Quoting Coconut Fanatic I've seen the old classic space stuff, so I actually don't think the arms are out of place. Those older ones always had huge legs and little arms, so it fits. The cockpit is a good design, as is that section in front of it. All in all, excellent moc. I hope to see more soon!
Thanks Terilis :)

Quoting David Roberts I really like the look of this machine. It looks well balanced for striding across rocky planets. I also like how you've used the CS colour scheme and stayed faithful to CS by equiping the mech with that big shovel instead of weaponary. A good back-story too.
I wanted to stay to the CS color scheme and equipment, though not putting any from of weapon on it was hard XD Glad someone like the back story too :) Thanks David :)

Quoting L.A. Miranda I find pretty funny the contrast between those impressive legs and those thin arms xD The only complain I would have is that left hand, looks too simple and small. Everything else is beautiful, the bucket hand is a great idea; and the torso looks beautiful. Nice desing on those legs too. To conclude, something interesting and refreshing, different from those Hulkies you have shown here recently. Good job, dear =P
Hahahah, Hulkies? Ok then XD Thanks L.A. :)
