The next evolution of the Mastodon series. This one is truly better, harder, faster, and stronger.
About this creation
The Mastodon Mod.2E1 is the latest in this line of Non-Loyalist main battle tanks. This version is much sleeker than it's counterparts and predecessors. This,in no way, hinders it's performance in battle.
Here we see the Mastodon's engine unit. The Mod.2E1 uses the same engine of the Mod.0, with an upgraded transmission system, less prone to malfunctions. The Mod.2E1 has an exhaust cooling system that uses the surrounding air to bring the temperature of the vehicles exhaust closer to that of the ambient temperature. This system makes the Mod.2E1 nearly invulnerable to heat seeking missiles.
Next we have the Mod.2E1's turret. The turret has one top hatch for both the commander and gunner.
To the right of the hatch we see the units targeting system. The Mod.2E1 uses a FSTM-02 system. This unit has the ability to track enemies in the infrared, and visual spectrum, as well as having a laser rangefinder, target designator, and target identification system.
To the left we see the M22 30mm automatic cannon. This weapon is used against soft targets, as well as ranging in the event that the FSTM-02 is not functional.
Next to the gun mantlet is a 12.7mm machine gun. This is used as a dedicated anti-infantry weapon.
Here we see the drivers hatch. The driver has a limited field of view from his sight. However, the driver can also patch into the gunner/commander sighting unit.
A shot of the Mod.2E1's skirt armor. These units are suspended from the side of the hull. Each model is made up of several banks of electric reactive armor plates.
This is a good example of the Mod.2E1's Mk.191 125mm smoothbore cannon. This cannon is loaded from a 4 round drum magazine, allowing it to put a round down range every three seconds.
