Steampunk Drilling Mech
Steampunk Mining, Madman Style.
About this creation
I really apologize for the poor photography, not only have I not used my camera in months but at some point it stopped letting me put it in Macro Mode. I also lack a good setup for pictures.

I'd estimate that I spent about 10 hours on this, total. The easiest part was the drill. The hardest part was definitely the legs. I revised those at least three times and I'm still not entirely satisfied. The feet were quickies, I might make a more thoroughly made one in the future.

This may or may not appear in our game, Balance of Power (check out our site!).

A very different idea for a mech's function. I like how you've built the drill, rather than just using a ready part.

Yay, monocle power forever :) The new fuel source in the steampunk world. The details and the overall impression are very good.

Quoting Deus "Big D." Otiosus You could make a segmented drill with spiral technic gears, or maybe make functional-looking studs on a more flowingly-shaped drill. That second one is more apropriate for steampunk, in my opinion.
I'm making a ground vehicle with technic gears... By a more flowing drill, I can't think of anything other than a "flexible" tube piece. Did you have something else in mind?

Quoting Deus "Big D." Otiosus Interesting stuff, but that drill does not impress me too much, too random. Does not look too functional.
The Power Miners Drill looked too plasticky, too modern to use. What would you suggest instead? I made it the way I did because I was creating a pyramid that's a little like a cone.

That is Nice! I quite like the use of that otherwise useless cockpit, and the drill, is, as has been said, superb!

This is excellent! You have really improved. I am quite fascinated by that drill for some reason. Great work!
