1x XCIWS-2B Close In Weapon System 'Yamato'
The first of which is the Experimental Close-In Weapon System, known as the 'Yamato'. Using momentum as the weapon's primary means of defeating combatants; the weapon is strong enough to cut through super-carbon, as well as damage the outer hull of most battleships. The weapon is designed with its center of gravity located near its hilt, which allows for better control and faster strikes during combat. The design and tactical usage of the weapon was also influenced by Japanese sword martial arts; pilots without a background in Japanese pilot training or the required combat experience will find it hard to fully utilize the Yamato.
Next, it is the Advanced Compound Optics mounted on the unit's head. It consists of:
An Active Probe, a suite of enhancement technology that, when attached to general electronic sensors, enables the equipped unit to detect and classify other battlefield units -with the exception of conventional infantry- whether they are camouflaged or even shut down.
A Missile Beacon, a utility that can be planted on enemy targets, causing friendly SRMs and LRM missiles (even those that do not traditionally have homing capabilities) to lock on to them. They are particularly useful when used in tandem with LRMs.
A Target Acquisition Gear, an advanced targeting device for use by artillery spotters. The TAG unit works by firing an infrared laser beam to designate the target and transmits that data via a tight-beam laser communication system to the guidance systems of friendly "smart" bombs and missiles.
The Rudhirá is piloted by Cpt. Marianne 'Bloody Mary' Sherzinger.
As the red ace, Marianne is already a capable pilot, with her skills focusing on close ranged combat, and having exceptional talent in melee combat. Strangely, her skill with a gun outside a mech is drastically different, as she is unable to make accurate shots. This due to her habit of twitching her wrist while pulling the trigger. However after learning of this habit, her skills may have improved. Her other skills include flying several aircraft and is an excellent squad leader. Her combat style mostly involve diving into large groups of hostiles and wrecking havoc in their midsts, simultaneously functioning as assistance to long range artillery when utilising the ACO. With the two AMS machine guns equipped on the Rudhirá, she can also intercept volleys of enemy missiles before they can do significant damage to friendly forces. This style of combat combined with the ruthless methods she employs to decimate enemy forces earned her the name 'Bloody Mary', a title both respected and feared by pilots of all forces.
How have I not commented on this yet? This thing is epic! Lovin' the color scheme and dat sword... Mmmm. Also, the new head design. Now that I think about it, I should probably start adding some pilot bios at the end of my mechs. Maybe once I finally get the ones I'm currently working on done...
