About this creation

Somniferria, a legend no more.

The countdown starts.

A legend to be born.

4th wall with images!:

Well folks, now you know what I've been building! So, I'm going to do a rundown here, bear with me. The species was invented by Clever Crowe.

Some dimensions. Urph, I just realized I forgot his scythe, image might come a little later. Well anyway, he's a foot/30 centimeters at the shoulder and the tail is well over four feet long. Yeah, big guy, dis one. The scary thing is I didn't scrap anything to build this!

A close-up of the feet. Boy, but have we been worked on. The legs all started with the concept of using the Kiina fins for a shadowy effect. Then, I started armouring, and we come up with this. I didn't get a good shot, but there is a Mata foot on the back, with a balljoint/spike thing that continues the shadowy look. On the toes... my Scarox gave its life to make the toes ;).

Upper legs and waist. That's Skrall armour on the waist area.

Chest. Sorry about the picture here, but it's hard to photograph black. That's a Breakout wave chest with 2.0 armour on top.

The arm. I like the arm, especially the chain. The arms were finished first, the the legs, and the chest and wings. The tail just sorta came into being along with it.

Head with bio-cannons. I came up with the head design when I was seven. No joke!

How I did the wings. My technique, as far as I know. :D so happy with these.

The tail. Dis thing is looooooooooooong.

A profile front-shot.

Ditto, except on the back

Closing pic.

BONUS: a shot of my photo set up. The sun makes the background appear whiter, a stroke of genius as far as I see.

So, I congratulate you for making it to the end! Please do rate and comment!

Quoting The Journeyman Ranger Ok, sorry it took me so long to comment, but here goes nothing. Overall it's a pretty good MOC. The legs are a little to bulky for the res of the torso. Other than that I can't find much else criticism. Maybe add some gunmetal pieces just to make it easier to see all the details. How tall is he? He looks like he would TOWER over Neox
Thanks Ranger!

Quoting Max W. if you came up with that head design when you were seven... You're at most.. 14?!?! hoooly... wow, 2006 was a long time ago... anyways, great MOC, although I'd refrain from all black in the future, I'm doing a b/w moc atm and it's giing me pains even with the naked eye.
Actually, I got Hydraxon off Amazon during the Glatorian period so... You people haz no idea how old I am(and I'm not tellin' ;) ) Thanks!

Quoting Dragonax lord of all things black and creepy This is a good looking MOC you've got going here! He could use a bit more armor to fill some gaps (arms and upper legs), but he has a good form overall. This is also a style of MOC I really like, so extra props for that :D
Thanks Dragonax! I agree with you on the gaps. Definitely going -cough cough- Bricklink -cough cough- "obtain" some parts for that.

Quoting Gale Winthrope Ok, you asked for my thoughts so I'll give you some honest critique here. For starters, you really need some other colors in this guy. Maybe just one or two, but something to contrast and give it some pop, the solid black, (as I've used many times with only mild success) makes some details fade from view and tends to hurt a MOC more than help it. I understand that you probably want to keep it dark colors, to keep that shadowy effect, so I would advise using gunmetal as well as black. Maybe even using the trans red on it in a few more places would be good too as it'd give it some nice bits of contrast. Now, the build itself is pretty nice, I'm not going to lie, but to be honest, I think your torso there is a little too thin. Especially compared to the legs, which are considerably beefy compared to everything else. You also need a little more armor on the arms, those really could use something to beefy them up. I also think that your tail is a little bit too long. I would take off about two feet of that, maybe only a foot and a half, so that you can keep the nice long tail effect, but not have the thing dangling off the couch, ya know? XD Now, I want to say that I really like those wings, (Did something similar a few times, but scrapped the things I used them on before I could post them XD) and the head design is pretty nice. I also like the cannons on his back, those look pretty nice too. My favorite part of this however, is the feet. Those are a LOVELY design. Simply beautiful. Overall, I see room for improvement, but you did a pretty good job. Nicely done :)
OK, first of all, I have to say I won't be changing any of the color, as solid black was one of my main priorities. Gunmetal sounds interesting for perhaps some battle armor, and the the thought is tempting considering I'm nearly out of black (Bricklink time! XD), but I'll have to hold firm on that, as a solid black MOC was, as I said, one of the main things I intended, for better or worse. I kinda agree on the torso, but I'm too happy with that design to care XD. The arms I totally agree on, as I did them first, and I had no idea the thing would turn out so BULKEH! The tail, actually, I think is good as it is, as it allows for better posing, stability, and overall cool factor. Plus I can detach the thing and use it as a whip XD. This is definitely not the last version, so I'm thankful for all the opinions!

Quoting Reaper the Ultimate . That's impressive! This one MUST go the distance. Advertise it in every group you're in! Put it in every group you're. Politely request that people have a look at it. Anyway, it's fantastic. The legs are spectacular, definitely has a Clever Crowe look and feel to it, which is hard to accomplish. The arms may be just a tad skinny in places, but that is my only qualm. I love this.

Quoting Clever Crowe Awesomely Saurian feet - really like that design. The upper arms (bicep to deltoids) could use a little more armoring on the effaced (square frontal) view, i.m.h.o., but I still like the proportions overall. The arc of linked brackets make very nice looking wings, and I like the chain accessories (sometimes little things like that can really set a MOC off right). Nice work, Garrett =)
Thanks Mr. Crowe! Yeah, I definitely wanted a hulking, dinosaur-ish feel, so I'm glad that worked. I agree about the upper arms, I was thinking maybe Visorak "feet'". I'll look in a min and see if I can find any. Thanks again!
