My entry for the guardians challenge at the Lands of Mythron group.
About this creation
Excerpt from the journal of Vaun Cornet: “It has been three months since I started my journey to Bodus. I was trudging along a muddy road on the other side of the mountains searching for an adventure to perk up an otherwise abysmal day. Suddenly, out of the misting rain, I saw it. It was a crypt belonging to a vampire lord that once ruled this land. Now, it is almost always worthwhile if you can get away with the treasure of a vampire’s crypt. I thought this treasure would be a piece of cake to grab, as the gates were lying rusted on the ground. I was mistaken. As soon as I touched the treasure, the coffin lid rose up. A pale, irate face appeared over the edge of the coffin and hissed, ‘Thief! You will never get away with my precious!’
I thought just back away slowly, but with superhuman speed the vampire lord leapt out of his coffin with a great, black sword and attacked! I engaged him in combat, temporarily hindered him by cutting off his sword hand, and fled for my life with his treasure. Right now I am examining the skull by the light of the fire and can see it is made of some kind of precious material. It should be worth a large fortune in Bodus.”

Stagnant water with a frog.
The tree with a dead Mythron soldier.
The muddy road and rusted gates.
Here is the overgrown right side of the crypt.
Here is the inside of the crypt with the vampire's coffin and the pedestal for the vampire's treasure.
