“Alecto” Experimental Tank Destroyer (World of Tanks)
The bane of all people who post creations on MOCpages are PEOPLE WHO VISIT THE PAGE, BUT DO NOT RATE OR COMMENT! if YOU like this creation, please show your appreciation by at least rating it. Now, on to some history about this Tank Destroyer: The Alecto was an experimental self-propelled gun developed by the British during the Second World War but terminated with the end of the war in Europe. A project for a 3.75 inch (95 mm) howitzer was started in 1942. Two guns were made, and one of these was chosen for test mounting on a Harry Hopkins tank chassis. Like the Harry Hopkins, the Alecto had skid steering, which operated by bowing the tracks through lateral movements of the central road wheels. The gun was mounted in an open-topped structure facing to the rear. The first trials were not started until late in 1944. The trials uncovered various problems but by the time these were solved the war in Europe was over. With no prospect for use in the Far East, the project was ended.
About this creation
The one and only Alecto on the 'pages! (And indeed, the only Lego Alecto in the world!)I used to own this tank destroyer in the MMO World of Tanks. In-game, the Alecto is very fast and maneuverable, with very hard-hitting, fast-firing guns, but has paper-thin 10mm armor. Named after one of the three Furies (Hade's servants) in Greek mythology.

another fancy image with the sepia tone. I wish there was some way to change this dark bley into light tan, like in-game. oh well.

a view from the back. like the fancy exhaust and driver's compartment? I was going to add ammo racks in the sides, like there is in-game, but couldn't find the right pieces.

a close-up. I was going to use the top of a turntable piece for the hubcap instead for more realism.

overhead view. you can see part of the camera case dangling down in the bottom right hand corner.

rear view.

Alecto in-game. in case you were wondering, yes, in that battle, I was destroyed. by a T18.

I LOVE the Alecto. It performs extremely well against tier 5 and 6 tanks! Great build. I wonder how one would make a Valentine AT with the hole-looking things on either side on top...

I'm surprised I've never commented on this, Its an exceptionally good TD, and is nicely detailed, and presented. I like the suspension, and the detailing on the top. 5*

Quoting lone wolf Awesome Alecto! I have seen a lot of tank destroyers in Lego, but I don't think I've ever seen this one.
I'ts not very well-known, except by people who play World of Tanks. So far, this is the only lego Alecto.

Quoting Alex Sonny This looks amazing! The front and the roadwheels are really great and I love the fact it's made out of real legos, I can only build tanks in LDD... you and Sach Weidler are now my favourite tank builders! As for the Cromwell, it is, in fact, the second most fun thing right after WZ-131.Oh and if you want to catch me on WoT or check my stats, username is Alex_Sonny (EU server)
I am going to get to the WZ-131 eventually. I am also going down the british light line, so I will prob get to the cromwell. and I am on the NA server. my username is Roadkill789.

Quoting manthanboeing MAD Cromwell? please do the cromwell, my fav WoT tank, 825 battles in the cromwell ATM, i would do it but i dont have any tracks.....
apparently the cromwell is the best tier 6 light. however, I am still on the Covenanter. and I only have the tracks I got in the hailfire droid set. maybe I could only build one track... hm, I'll consider it.

I like it! All I would say by way of criticism is that it could be a little lower to the ground. Other than that, I recognized it right away! Good job!

Quoting Nick C. Gj! Very realistic! Try making a Tetrarch next!
I already took apart this tank. next tank on my agenda will probably be a pz. II luchs, after I am done with a new VTOL I am making. I don't know if I will do a tetrarch or not, I'll consider it though!

That's just how people are. There's either nothing forcing them to comment or they see that it is build by someone they don't know. >Eric
