Dog Fight
Chocks away chaps!
About this creation
I am really struggling for building time at the moment but I did manage to rebuild my Spiffing Spitfire and build a Messerschmitt ME 109 with flamming engine for this Dog Fight.

Hope you like it. Tally Ho!

Fantastic! The spitfire versus the bf 109, a classic dogfight. Both models look amazing, the built in markings and the flaming 109 are boss design.

Fantastic, Joe! First off, the crafting of the planes is spot on. Your accuracy really turns back the clock. The color combos are very well done. I like how you created the angles, achieving the illusion of flight. What really stands out to me is the NPU that gives us fire and smoke flying out of the engine of the damaged plane. Great work.

Quoting Mitchell Smith Another great creation Joe! Is the yellow-winged planes engine on fire? If it is, poor plane. I want to ask something else: Have you taken apart the Acid Race Team truck yet? It has been ages since I first asked. I just want to know.
Hi Mitchell, yes the 109 is on fire, but don’t worry no minifigs were harmed in the creation of this moc. Sorry for the delay in responding - The acid race team truck is long gone but I have built some similar mini F1 race teams you might like. I will fly by your pages later ;)

Quoting Henry Smith I am not sure if this is going to be taken as a compliment or not (even though it is intended to be so), but I like how it looks like it was a set lego would sell in the 80s (i can see the big bubbly LEGO TECHNIC logo now! :3)
Hi Henry, I take this as a massive compliment. I am a purist and like to build in that classic authentic way. I do build smooth/studless and use modern snot technic in other creations but I wanted this one to be big and bubbly. Thanks again :D

Quoting Hrvoje Majetich Parts for landing gear, exhaust system of motor, the markings on the plane... Great! Why did not you use some tiles instead plates..? Or, some combination of those two..? Maybe...
Hi :) great to hear from you. Thanks for the comments. To answer your question - I purposely leave studs showing, in fact I go out of my way to build with studs. I like to be different ;)

Quoting Jme Wheeler These are sweet. I especially like your usage of the red bush for the exploding engine. You did a great job of capturing both of these with relatively few parts.
Thanks Jme. I love that red bush I use it for so many different mocs. Thanks again

Quoting Deus "Big D." Otiosus I like the exploding engine, but the yellow stud-pieces on the other plane make it look like a rainbow warrior.
Thanks for the feedback Deus. The orginal Spitfires do have yellow flashes on their leading edges but I admit on my version they are a lot more noticeable.

Quoting David Roberts I like how the wings are covered in studs and not all smooth and SNOTty. The RAF roundels shouldn't really work on such a small MOC but they DO and they're fun. The red bush and white pipes make excellent fire and smoke. I quite fancy building my own for some fun swooshing time...
I Say, thank you David. They are very swooshable :D

Loved the commentary! Very, Top Gear like! Anyways, I like how you did the fire on that ME109. My only complaint, I think, is the leading edge of the Spitfire. Its bit thick and blocky. Otherwise, 5/5
