Venator Reloaded
Personal interpretation of the well-known Venator, UCS scale
About this creation

Although the picture looks CAD-like, this is actually a true LEGO model I built over the past 6 months.

What to say about this Venator ? That I have been seeking my inspiration over the existing MOCS ? True. Looking around the web brought me wide sources of ideas for this MOC. A (only) quote : Once browsing on the web, I discovered this guy, who created an amazing CAD rendering of this beautiful ship. It was a shock, and I decided to have myself build a very-own-and-personal remix of the ship.

Here it is, I hope it will bring you ideas and passion for building. I didn't count the time spent...nor the parts ! I still have the plans to create Ldraw model for it. I already started to render a few parts, but I miss a little bit time to complete it. Anyway I hope the pics will help those interested in trying the ride...

I'll be glad to answer your questions as well !

Thank you

Quoting Pierrick Puchois Hello ! Really appreciate your feedback. It's true the overall dimensions don't exactly fit the real Venator, anyway I hope the spirit is there... Not so much time to get involved in the Lego Star Wars community, but I am proud to have been pinned in your website ! Thx !
The spirit is definitely there. I like the changes, and as you said, it's not meant to be a totally accurate representation. The bulkier area between the hulls allowed you to add some fabulous greebling. Building with LEGO is often about compromises, and making something look like the 'real' thing, but also making changes so that it still looks good. And you've done a great job there.

Quoting Brickdoctor - Even though you intended this as a reinterpretation, I think you've still nailed many of the elements of a true Venator, especially around the bridge, the main turrets, the engines, and the secondary docking bays. The only elements that at first glance really look like they donít belong are those exposed greebles behind the Open Circle Fleet emblems, and the thicker gap between the dorsal and ventral hulls. While I think that overall gives it the impression of being slightly bulkier than a normal Venator, which Iím not sure I like better, I canít argue with the really nice detailing in that gap, and really all over the model. Impressive work. Blogged! http://eurobricksstarwarsforum.com/2013/06/19/venator-reloaded/

This is a very good looking Venator, definitely one of the better ones on Mocpages, well done. Although it's not the best Venator i have seen, it deserves 5 stars none the less, I know how much effort goes into building a big ship like this. Check out my Acclamator if you want.

Quoting clayton Marchetti Very well detailed. How do you get that effect with the camera?
Hi Clayton : just taking pictures outside on a sunny day, Venator left on white liners, clean background with GIMP, then Filters/Artistic/Pen Drawing... that's it !
