About this creation
I guess it's nostalgia...
Aquazone!

A typical AFOL phase I suppose, revisiting the lego themes of my childhood.

This is an Aquanaut vehicle but unlike the official ones this one is not meant for gathering crystals, it's an underwater fighter, a defensive vehicle for dealings with the Aquasharks, the enemies of the Aquanauts.
Concealed under the 'hood' are two harpoon cannons which serve as its primary weapon system.
Compared to other aquanaut vehicles this one is particulary fast, as it is more streamlined and has a relatively big engine to drive its propeller.

Anyway, I think the pictures don't need explanation, enjoy.

Thanks for watching, here's some more nostalgia :P

I provided building instructions for the interested, keep in mind though that this design relies on some rare parts.

I'd appreciate some support for my Cuusoo Submarine Project ;)

Quoting Alex Sonny This is my favourite aquazone desig yet. Why? It's so small, but has so many amazing features that I just can't comprehend how you managed to put it all together. For instance, the blue window in the rear panel. I can see the design, but you must be a genius to think of that. It brings back memories for me too, but I just own one tiny set. I'm currently working on an aquazone creation myself, I'd honoured to see your comment on it when it's done!
Thanks, I definitely will.

I think nostalgia is not the only thing, lego never released better than those for underwater, the color scheme, parts, are still the mark to beat, funny, as I m currently trying to get them as well, someone near home is selling them, the biggest kits, I d buy them all in numbers if possible, and build a massive layout, they also had pretty cool baseplates!

Very cool design, harkening back to the classics while using all sorts of crafty techniques. Love the display as well.

Awesome sub design, especially that little porthole on the back! Makes me want to dig out the pieces from my old aquanauts sets. Also, that blue rock formation is really well done, a work of art on its own.

Aquanaut pocket money contest winner there! The shape is absolutely playable and totally fun. Clever job on the rear. I miss them Aquanauts! Wish that Lego would have continued with the bright yellow and trans blue, they were as iconic as grey/blue in CS. Great Vette!

Aquanauts were during my dark ages, so I'm not very familiar with the theme. I like the shape, especially the rear side.

Great! I also like the background scene you build to present this.

Quoting Eric Landreneau Brilliant! I think the lower-rear-angle is the nicest view of this thing - beautifully sculpted! The propellor looks a little dinky for a fast attack sub. If you do a version 2, think about maybe dual props, or a primary with 2 secondaries. A lot of real-world sub designers are playing more with "wings" for underwater maneuverability. You could try that, too. But it's a great sub, and a wonderful bit of nostalgia!
Thanks, I'll look into that. If I redesign the rear I could add some more propellers I think

Very neat little craft, and it looks great alongside the scene you built for it.

Very neat rockwork, reminds me of the artwork on the one box/set I had. The little sub is peachy keen! Cool features, great shape!

That's really cool! Definitely something I would have loved to have played with as a kid, like the scene you built to go with it too! Off to support your submarine now :-)
