SSV Normandy SR2
SSV Normandy SR2 from Mass Effect 3
About this creation

This is the SSV Normandy SR2 as seen in Mass Effect 3. It's built to scale with my SR1 and stretches the tape at about 8 feet (2.4 meters for the metrically inclined). Built from secondary reference.

This build was extremely complicated both in the logistics of sourcing enough parts and in the sheer weight of the thing. The parts list was ruinously expensive.

Bonus commentary and at least one shot of a build catastrophe available in my flickr stream at http://www.flickr.com/photos/ktorrek/

I really don't possess the words to do this justice, but I would like you to know that you made the only tactile version I want to hold of the coolest Space Hot Rod I've ever laid eyes on.

Quoting Spy Wing ...but would it be possible to make this using ur instructions?
There are no instructions but if you check my flickr stream there's some shots of the internals to give you an idea of how it's built.

What a beauty. Looks like it's composed, from stem to stern, of 90% gofast, and 10% breakneck. Completely stunning build.

Can't say I've ever played the game, but this ship is fantastic. Such an awesome design, and you've replicated it brilliantly.

Thanks, folks! If anyone's in the greater Dallas area over the 4th weekend and wants to see them in person, I'm planning on bringing both my Normandys to BrickFiesta.

I'm speechless... I'm unfamiliar with Mass Effect, but this is absolutely stunning. Brilliant design, I cannot fathom the technical difficulties inherent in a build of this scale. It's so big, it's tough to even tell that it's LEGO! Kudos on this massive achievement, quite the masterpiece.

JS Can: That model of the Normandy was built by another builder, at half the size of this one.

Shephard would be proud to command THIS beauty. What a beast! I don't even want to know how frustrating this was to engineer. UGH! I still haven't figured out what those things on the front of the engines do. Absolutely spectacular!
