About this creation

Hielo is not like other Toa and Matoran of Ice. He always felt the urge to explore and have adventures rather than sit around and read all day. He would often disappear for weeks on end and discover new places and Rahi. He wears no Kanohi mask, because he feels that they are unnecessary and he considers them "cheating" when in battle. Instead, he relies on his wits and halberd for defense.

UPDATE! (I made him even more bada*** by giving him a second halberd :p)

I am very pleased with the way that Hielo turned out. Making the Hordika armor work with the other pieces necessary for the torso was a pain in the butt for one, the custom legs were relatively easy. And he was really fun to build overall.

P.S. Hielo is Spanish for Ice.

P.P.S. Hielo can hold his halberd without the axles connecting it to his hand.

Quoting Johann Dakitsch Legs are good, and the torso structure is alright. However, there isn't much else I can say about it, looks a bit too bland. Here, take a 5.
How does it look bland? I would like to know so that I can improve.
Quoting Berial . It's most defenitly not bad, but the design is overly basic for my taste. Your score: 5
basic? How so?

Quoting Zach Eli "Sierra" Sykes Very cool. I like the upper leg technique a lot.
Thanks! I needed to allow flexibility in the legs, so the back is relatively empty.

Quoting Chris Yee Indeed, sometimes it's always good to refer to the classics from time to time. Simple, lean and elegant. I don't say this too often to guys but great legs ;) The forearms did need something to fill that hole in. I would have probably used some white bohrok eyes personally. The head looks to be something of interest, but there's not to many close up shots to detail it that much. One thing, which I'm surprised the other's haven't picked up was the use of the red pins. The ones visible on the inside of the arms don't bother me too much, but the ones that stick out on the back of the shoulder armour do. Here's a 6. And yes, that's one of my favourite masks too.
Wow, at this rate I'm gonna score a 36! Thanks for the compliment on the leg design, it's a variant of Lariska's lower leg. The upper leg is a completely new design. The bohrok eye's probably would work really well, just didn't think of it. The head is basically just Kordan's, just with a blue slope as a visor. I knew that someone was going to notice those red pins soon. I couldn't find any more black ones at the time.

Quoting Clever Crowe It's a lean and balanced figure, no doubt, with good closure on the legs ('specially Upper). I agree with Yuri on the arms, but my semantics differ (white would've been more Thematic, but that's not what I'm noting here): those 'open-girder' sculpts on that forearm piece have always bothered me a little - but that can be helped with a little insert-greeble, a Technic 1-X-By with combo axles or socket pins. It prevents them from looking so unfinished. A good build, and good photos (one of my fave old Masks). Good for a 6 from me, too. Cheers =)
Yeah, I realized the problem with the arms right after I uploaded him. I should have used some greebles. Thanks for the 6!
Quoting Monarth GS A good, classic-esque figure with some nice design choices. His bodily proportions argue with each other just a teeny tiny bit though. The legs (love the design) refer to a sleaker character, but his short-ish torso and shoulders give him a bit bulkier look. This is forgivable though as it's hardly notable. One issue is that his forearms scream for something white. Otherwise, good work. 6 points. If the torso had posability, it could've granted an additional point.
Right after I uploaded him, I found my white Metru legs >.< Now he is standing proudly with them next to an unfinished companion.

Quoting Yuri Fassio Indeed this torso came out very well. Anyway, what I generally object to is this diffused mania of just building a technic tower and calling it a torso (like Brutaka, or the Witch Doctor). I have no problems with small torsos, because the effect only becomes goofier the taller the MOC. So, back to your entry. It's a beautiful old-school build with interesting design choices (love the legs). Still, the character's ice theme is very limited (it's pretty much just the helmet and the name), and I really think that a HF forearm (or a custom one) with white plating would have suited him better. More than sufficient for me, but sadly there's no fractions in this games: 6 points.
Thanks for the points! I was expecting a 4 or 5. I was trying out a new color technique, where one accents the elemental colors. He's actually only about as tall as the standard Inika, so the Hordika body worked out well.

Quoting Phantom Terror Jetpacks aren't necessarily cheating if one uses it sparsely.
Same goes for Kanohi, possibly to a larger extent.

Quoting [ Chro ] I know jetpacks aren't Kanohi. What I'm saying is that a jetpack is more like cheating than a Kanohi. And without a mask, by the way, Toa become incredibly weak... :P

Quoting Reaper the Ultimate . In relation to the song: Did you first hear it in Treasure Planet, because I did. Hence the Nostalgia. Reminds me of hours spent building Bohrok and Toa Mata...
Yeah, Treasure Planet will always be one of the best Disney movies ever made. I always listen to it when I MOC because it's basically my theme song. Either that or Secrets by One Republic.

Quoting [ Chro ] Not bad. But if he considers Kanohi cheating, then why the jetpack? :P
Because jetpacks aren't Kanohi. His jetpack is a short-range one.
Quoting Halhi 141 Non-poseable custom torso? I see someone hasn't been listening to Yuri...
Poseable custom torsos are a pain the the rear to make right. And this torso came out really nicely.
Quoting Reaper the Ultimate . If I were judging, you'd get a ten just for that song. That brings on the Nostalgia in massive waves... Nice MOC as well.
"I'm Still Here" has always been one of my favorite songs.
