Numbra the Overcomer
My entry for the 2013 Bio-Cup. Spent a while on this dude and like him quite a lot. Enjoy the long story that may be subject to change later.
About this creation
Bio-Cup

Name: Numbra
Weapon: Twin sabres
Planet of Origin: Turga Magna
Quote: "If you don't want your Kraata sliced in half on the floor; the exit is over there."
[CREDIT FOR THE HEAD GOES TO Journeyman Ranger ]

Long before the time of Mata Nui there existed a planet called Turga Magna on which raged a great battle. Dark forces led by Makuta Riyakan fought to take possession of the Keenan, a great weapon so powerful that it possessed the ability to destroy planets. The Toa Turga defended the weapon as tasked by the Great Beings, lest the Makuta take control of it. The weapon could not be destroyed by any means known to the Toa and so they fought to protect whoever the Makuta would use it on. The weapon was created by the Makuta, who, being great craftsmen had the capability to do such things. Fortunately, there was only enough hypodermis to power one great weapon. Hypodermis is the protodermis of the Great Beings. When all but one of the Toa Turga had fallen in battle the Great Beings sent Numbra to finish what had been started long ago.
Paired with the last of the Toa Turga, Numbra pushed the Makuta back. Unfortunately the victories were not to last. The armies of the Makuta overcame the Toa leaving only Numbra to defend the weapon. As the armies of Darkness closed in, Numbra used his energy to activate the hyperdermis and destroyed both the weapon and himself. He could not contain the blast and desolated the entire planet, Makuta and his armies both.

Seens like it was goin into an interesting direction, but execution falls kinda flat. Although I like the ide of one big block of color in the torso, its built a bit oddly and oversimplistic. Even if you kept the prefab torso, you could have armored it better. So here goes a 5.

Not bad! There's defenitely potential here! But I've got to agree with the other judges. Your score: 5

That gold body is an interesting and works somewhat, but the different shades of gold kind of ruin it. In structure, he's a bit rough around the edges, so to speak and there really is need for more work on the torso. 4 points.

Thanks everyone! Oh and Chro I do know that. The story was just thrown together because I needed one for a comic that I'm making for my little brothers.

You know that Mata Nui created the Makuta, right? :P Anyway, good luck in the BC.

Is the weathered texture all over your parts from bin-tumbling, or was it applied intentionally? I am not slamming - but I might have Rated you higher if I discovered it was on purpose; to commit to Theme for your figure. If not the wear and dust was s tiny bit distracting - I did read through your texts to see if it was called out before I locked my Score, btw. Bit basic of limb build, but proportions aren't bag, and some effort to greeble and customize has been made. 5 points, and best of luck, ahead~

Quoting Yuri Fassio Nice head, and I like the use of wings as weapons. The different shades of gold don't really work for me, and the technic work is still a bit crude. Generally speaking, if you're short on parts or unsure about the outcome, there's nothing wrong in using prefab limbs, if you feel they can convey the character the way you want. I fear that in fairness I can't give you more than 4 points.
Yeah I kinda figured it would be a 4. I will keep that in mind and thanks!

Quoting Callan Lord of Fire As others have said, the head is very creative. However, I fear the empty chest and the simpler build may cost points from the judges. Not a bad entry, though, I wish you luck! :D
Yeah I am just trying my luck. I haven't seen a bad entry in the Bio-Cup so I don't think I'll go far but it was fun. Thanks for the comment!

Quoting Garrett A. Nice work Jensen! I like the legs the best for some reason. Also, could you do me a favor and drop a comment or two on some of my more recent MOCs? Thanks, I'll leave the choice up to you.
Sure but why no "I like it?"
