I, Doleus, sat at the table, wearily eating. It had been a tiresome day, and I was ready for sleep after my meal. As I ate, I pondered the events of my day. I had seen Adamus today; he said that he had fared well for the time. He mentioned a meeting he was to be making for at Heartfire Inn soon. I bid him farewell after a brief exchange. I had later been assailed by a company of goblins, but I was luckily near a Mythronian outpost at the time. I tarried there till an hour had passed and then made on horseback for the city of Meids where I sleep tonight. I was given good fare, as I knew the king there, Frederick.
I had risen from the table to take my leave when I heard footsteps. Thinking they were coming to eat, I was going to greet them, but something stayed my tounge.
I ducked into the gloomy shadows just as the door slowly creaked open.
Two dark shapes creeped into the darkening room. One wore the colors of Mythron, I thought, but still I held my breath, as the other did not, and didn't seem of a kindly sort.
I caught only fragments of their talk, but I did hear mention of "capturing that rogue elf.." Adamus, I thought, and knew that these men were certainly not my allies. One often wandered off into a tounge unknown to me, I suspected it was a barbaric speech or another. The second present seemed to understand this language, which I thought a bit queer.
I sunk deeper still into the shadowy gloam as they rose, gingerly, as though not to make a sound from their seats.
I knew, at this point, there would be no rest for the weary this night.
I had to follow these two men, and find out their scheme against my friend.
4th wall commentary:
WOW that was a lot of writing XD. But, as you can see, Doleus certainly has his hands full. Well, honestly not much to the build, so not much to say either. See you next post!
