Star Tours Spaceport THX-1138
"Brakes! Brakes! Where are the brakes?"
About this creation
I have a passion for anything Disney and Star Wars, so when you combine the two into a theme park ride, I'm hooked! Star Tours: The Adventures Continue is the prequel version of the popular Disney theme park attraction, placing guests into the immersive Star Wars universe through an intergalactic travel agency, Star Tours.

This Star Tours MOC is a much needed refurbishment of my previous Starspeeder 1000 and C-3PO queue station builds, built in 2011 and 2012, respectively. In addition to strengthening the hull and adding more details to the Starspeeder, I expanded C-3PO's station to include the entire queue set-up!
Let's take a look, shall we?

Welcome to:
Star Tours, Spaceport THX-1138
Main Terminal, Tomorrowland

We enter into a huge repair bay to see Star Tours' newest employees at work servicing a Starspeeder 1000 before takeoff. C-3PO, the systems-analyst, monitors the controls while R2-D2, the navigator, repairs the forward laser cannons on the vessel, just in case they run into any debris in space. You can never be too careful!

C-3PO: "How should I know what's wrong with the ship? I am an interpreter, not an astromech. However, you might just check the logic circuits. Sometimes I think these new transports have a mind of their own."
Supervisor: "Transport 22, prepare for elevation to passenger boarding level."
C-3PO: "Oh, that's us, Artoo. Standby for final systems check. Forward lights? Check! Deflector shield? Check! Laser cannons? Check! Hyperdr.... I said check, Artoo! Shut them down before you blow up the whole place!"

Yoda: "Judge me by my size, do you?"

G2-4T: "Excuse me please, but you'll have to check that excess baggage. Huh? Oh, I'm terribly sorry, I didn't realize that was your husband. Heh heh, heh heh heh..."

G2-9T: "Hey, you there! Uh, excuse me? Hello-o-o? I'm talking to you! Yes, you! Are you very mechanical? Well, I was just wondering if you could tell me where this goes? See I wasn't really online when they were programming us for logic repairs. Usually I can figure it out but these old R5's are kinda built backwards, know what I mean? Heh! No, you don't know what I mean... Well, don't worry, this isn't your navigator. No, I fixed him hours ago. But thanks for trying to help me out, and you have a nice flight. I'll figure this out....... eventually....."

Captain Rex

Signal Droid, in charge of directing all Star Tours flights to and from the loading concourse.

A lot of Imperial activity has been spotted in the Star Tours spaceport. Rumor has it that spies for the Rebel Alliance are known to be aboard several of the Starspeeders. These interrogation squads patrol the hangar, scanning all flights departing the Tomorrowland station.

People sure don't pack light. It's G2-9T's job to scan all luggage, but he seems to be a bit behind with his work.

The travel screen in the Main Terminal can display departure and arrival times for all Star Tours flights, as well as give weather updates to each destination, and showcase advertisements for their latest travel packages.

This security tower overlooks the spaceport safety.

I just had to include a Hidden Mickey in the build!

Hope you enjoyed your tour of the Spaceport! My goal with this build was to create the ultimate Star Tours tribute display in LEGOŽ, that can not only be used in future brickfilms (hint hint), but also be set for displaying at conventions and events! My hopes with it is that it will bring back a few memories of your experiences on the attraction.
Thank you for flying with us!

Quoting Jeff Henderson I believe you had this on display at Legoland for the Star Wars weekend? I spoke to you about it and was hoping to contact you directly. Not sure how we could email but I have some questions I am hoping you can answer.
Hey Jeff, sorry for the delayed response! I would love to talk with you about this model. If possible, you can contact me through the messaging on Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/people/99976931@N06/ I'd be happy to give you my email through there :)

I like the concept, and the scene is very detailed and intricate, I had no idea Disney would add this to the rides, if it was up to me, I d do a bounty hunter ride, to seek all the rebels heroes, there would be a lot of action, lol. well done!

I like what you've done to the place! Nice improvements to the starspeeder. I must say my favorite part is all the little details which really make this creation shine!... or maybe it's just the lighting... :)

I've wanted to ride Star Tours for a very long time, I understand they have completely changed it since its debut? At any rate, outstanding MOC, cheers!

This is outstanding! I LOVE it! I am a big fan of anything Disney, I just never get around to building anything that has to do with it! This build is dead-on with the ride at Disney, and those stickers make it even more realistic. Great job!

Wow Daevs, this version is better than ever! Thanks for reflecting my best childhood memories during my visit to the Star Tours ride. This is so accurate, nice job including the accurate screen displays like the schematics and the list of departures. Excellent work, the imperial patrol even reflects the beginning of the ride {spoiler} how imperials actually show up whent he StarSpeeder is about to take off :D. A 5/5 piece. ~Gerald

Thanks for commenting! Yes, the 2011 update created multiple randomly-generated ride experiences taking place before the events of the original, sometime loosely between Episodes 3 and 4. The new attraction is phenomenal and is great for re-riding because of all the different destinations :)

This is awesome! You have really taken this to the next level. I love all of the droids you have included, and I like how you've actually added quotes from the droids into your write up. Keep up the good work :)

Awesome work. I'm a huge fan of this ride and it's spot on. I'll be going to Disneyland in about a month and I can't wait. Haven't been in over 1 and half years.
