This is an entry for round 2 of the 2013 Bio Cup. Derenk finally starts to redeem himself! The theme is Mech/powersuit/hardsuit, and he must be able to wear it. Happy viewing!
About this creation

Hello! As you can see, I no longer have, "Mah evil genius accent!" I thought you might not get the reference, so I stopped. Now, onto the continued tale of Dernek!

Here is Dernek in his power suit, given to him by the leaders of Ragnus Nui. Oh wait, I did not tell you how! Well, from the beginning!

After living his half life for several years, Dernek was deemed too dangerous to live.

So, they sent the best and brightest toa team to either kill him or bring him in. Naturally, they could not kill him.

After several failed attempts, including incineration and an avalanche, the team decided Dernek could not be killed.

So, after they, "killed" him one more time, they hurried him to the capital for examination before he woke up.

When Dernek awoke, he found himself being examined behind glass.

After the first couple attempts to kill the scientists, the scientists realized what was wrong. Some recognized Derenk as the promising young toa with his whole life ahead of him.

So, he told them everything. They then found the root of his problem.

The curse had messed with the way his brain interpreted the sight signals from his eyes.

The were able to temporarily fix the problem, but the power needed to keep the signals straight would make the city to go dark.

However, a solution presented itself in a strange way.

Miners found a rock that held nearly limitless energy.

Using this, the scientists built a power suit with two purposes.

One, to make Dernek much stronger, and two, to restrain him in case the power ever failed.

After setting himself into the suit, Derenk felt like he had not felt in years. He was free!

However, he was still treated like a leper. He had killed hundreds of innocent people in mostly cold blood. He was now known as, "The Toa of Destruction."

He was assigned to a toa team capable of taking him down if he went on a rampage.

However, their fears were ill placed. The suit worked perfectly and Derenk began to earn back some of his lost honor.

While his tale is not complete, he has begun to act like his old self, even cracking jokes every now and then. In this, he almost feels normal, almost feels matoran.

4th Wall: Man, I had builder's block for nearly two days trying to make this suit. I am happy how it looks, but all in all, it could be better.

Size comparison with the suit.

Whoops! Looks like he had something against these two!

Bye! Wish me luck!

As I said, this is for the 2013 Bio Cup. While I might have been able to do a better entry, this is better than the horrible one I built before. This one makes him look like it is just a small power suit, meant for power and not armor. Like he needs any armor, still being dead. Sorry about the "No picture available," the thing hates me. Oh, and sorry about the bad pics, no excuse. Comment and suggestions appreciated!

Quoting Chris Yee Very nice exoskeleton suit. As a number of people have mentioned, the way it makes the character underneath look quite different is impressive. Appears quite mobile and a few interesting details spread all around. I'll give you 8 points.
Thanks! The suit is very mobile, much more so than I had thought when I built it. I would have liked to add more details, but the HF thing worked, so I stopped there.

Quoting Yuri Fassio Nice job on this exoskeleton-type suit. 7 points.
Thanks! That was the only thing I had the pieces to do and stick with the general color scheme.

Quoting Monarth San A nicely done exoskeleton. It's mobile, it's compact, it creates a significantly different appearance and creates a whole new color scheme. I'm very much impressed by the aesthetic effect this suit gives and for that I'll give you 8 points.
Thanks! I honestly was not expecting anything higher than a 7, so thanks a ton!

Quoting Clever Crowe Nice story-connection to the original Build, I like the bulk that the outer-aligned framing added to each limb. Nice work! 7 points
Thanks! I like when people have informed comments to leave, not just random stuff and irrelevant stuff. So, thanks twice!

Quoting L.A. Miranda Eeeeeey, why did you say you're entry wasn't good enough? It may be simple, but fits Dernek very well and has nice designs. For example, that Savage Planet paw for the feet was an excellent idea, and the head armor is pretty cool. Also, it uses mainly HF parts, and covers the MOC almost totally. What more can a power suit ask for? Great job, dear, seriously. Good luck in the contest!
Thanks! I said he stunk because I knew there would be awe inspiring entries like Shadowgear's that had the 'wow' factor I did not. I can only hope I go on with this dinky little thing. Good job with your entry! I found the dialog entertaining!

Well, the original is here, if you want to see that. http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/363155
