The Aftermath
Here is my entry for the twelfth two-week challenge over in the contest group! I'm pretty sure this is my biggest build on MOCpages and it's also my favorite! Enjoy the epicness!
About this creation
Setting
It is 2017. A nuclear bomb accidentally goes off in Russia, who think it is an attack from the United States. Immediately the Russians strike and launch multiple nukes in major cities around the US. The states retaliate and a war ensues. Other countries with nuclear capable weapons join in on the fight, and the war is soon named World War III. The war is taken to every side of the globe, leaving major cities destroyed and left in rubble, and the total population of humanity greatly diminished. The war ends, but the apocalypse leaves the world smoking. The dust and smoke clouds the sky and blocks out most of the sun's light. Food is becoming scarce as plants can barely grow. People start to murder each other to get their own supplies, turning people against each other. Everyday is a battle to survive.

Here is the front of the MOC. By the way the survivor's name is Jim.I really like how the whole thing turned out. Those brown tiles don't make a door a door, by the way. It's actually boarded up so that nobody can get in easily.

The base. I really like how the cracks in the road make it an irregular base. I also like all that rubble on the sidewalk.

This might be my favorite part of the build. When I was building was when I tried to figure what kind of building it was. I decided to make it a bank which is why it has some nice details.

Right side of the build, really nothing special here.

Left side, not much special here either.

The first story. This is where Jim keeps his heater thing (the fence piece with the orange trans pieces) and his food and eating supplies.

The second story is whee he keeps his more valuable supplies, mainly weapons. Jim put a bow and quiver of arrows he found on top and even a pair of binoculars and a club.

In the safe Jim keeps some gold he found, just in case he'll need to do some bargaining or something. The red tile is supposed to represent a cloth to add some color.

Behind the safe Jim keeps a couple boxes of ammunition and a couple pistols.

You may have been wondering how Jim gets inside. Well, since all the entrances are blocked, Jim taught himself parkour so that he could easily traverse such obstacles.

Thanks for looking! I had fun building this MOC so I hope you enjoy this as much as I do! Please leave a rating and a comment!

Originality: 3 I can agree with what Nicholas said. The story does bring it up some than just giving a broken building. Build: 8 This is really good. I like your heater and the little details of broken whatever on the sidewalk. And that's a really cool looking torso for Jim. Presentation: 5 This is where you really shined because that setting was very well put together. I can see what Nicholas is talking about with the whole parkour thing. It's a neat idea and while you did say he runs up the wall, perhaps one thing could be added to help out with that. Anyway, nicely done! 16/20

Quoting Nicholas Dreadman (formerly Inferno Thirteen) Not that it makes a difference to your score, but I don't think Jim would be able to get up to the roof like that. There is no visible climbing route, and I doubt he jumped that high.
He wouldn't have jumped, he would have been running and then basically run up the wall using his momentum. It's a bit hard to explain the way he does it, but is possible for people to do stuff like that.

Originality : 2. Sorry Stephen, but a ruined house with a damaged road out the front isn't really very original. They seem to make up the majority of post apocalypse mocs. Build : 8. It looks fairly nice, and its great that you didn't put tiles on everything, and left some studs exposed to give a messier look. The smashed window is nice, although it could be better. I'm a big fan of the heater, although it would be nice if it was closer to the wall, or even imbedded. While the rubble is nice for the most part, it looks straight up bad on the road like that. Also, if you're going to board something up, it looks better is the plates are horizontal, and not perfectly lined up. Presentation : 5. The pictures are clear, the grammar is not flawed, and all 0 of your links work. Comment: Not that it makes a difference to your score, but I don't think Jim would be able to get up to the roof like that. There is no visible climbing route, and I doubt he jumped that high. Total score: 15/20.

Quoting Alphonsus Liguori I really like the irregular road base you made, even though it doesn't make sense how it would connect to the rest of the roads.
The road is irregularly shaped because it's supposed to be like giant cracks caused by explosions.

Excellent! This is gonna be hard to beat. Halhi is a judge, but our entries don't get judged until the deadline is up.

The jacket looks awesome as a modern overcoat.

Decent vignette - I think you should have either done tiled or studded throughout. :-) -LB Jr.

Wow. This is really good! I'm glad to see that parkour will come in handy during the apocalypse, it seems like it would! Great rubble, and great story too! Good luck in the contest!
