Ghostbusters Ecto-1 updated
Updated model of my Ghostbusters Ecto-1. Credits for Sven Jagdmann.
About this creation
Hi guys, I bring you an update to one of my favorite MOCs. The Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters was my most successfull MOC from 2012 and today is my 3 most popular LEGO creation, was dismounted for more than a month, as most of my MOCs. Recently I've been tidying my LEGO workshop that was in a state between complete messy and post-apocalyptic and I noticed the excess of loose parts therefore had reassembled some of my older works. One of them was this one, but when it was ready (as it had mounted the first time) I thought I could do better, and I did some updates. Among them, new wheels (a Caddillac 1959 with chrome rims is something unusual), the front was completely rebuilt, made some improvements in the equipment of the roof and the back, among other things new.

I also used this MOC to try GIMP, that I've recently downloaded and was watching some tutorials on the internet to use it well. The photos are not anything out of this world, but it seems to me better than I usually get. I opted for a black cardboard and not white as background for two reasons: because white does not contrast enough with this MOC who is white, not allowing you to see and all its details, and because I saw on Flickr that many LEGO enthusiasts have their MOC with more artistic backgrounds creating amazing photos, and I'm doing some "experiments".

And, of course, credits for Sven Jagdmann.

Hey, the Ecto-1 was at the MOCpages home page as "Popular today" on 18/07/2013, and today (19/07/2013) is still here! Nice!

Quoting Scott Bertaut Woh! I'm amazed that you were able to make this car at this scale! The Ecto-1 is a very tricky car with the amount of detail one must add to do it right, didn't think it could be done in four wide but you've proved me wrong. Great job on this, I'd highlight my favorite part but the truth is "all of it," lol! Great job!
Hey Scott, thanks for your comment! This is one of my old models I would love to rebuild and improve. I guess it would be possible do add even more details to it, and improve a bit it's shaping.

Quoting Henrik Hoexbroe A very good edition! Lots of details for a 4-wide. Only thing I miss; an antena...
Thank you! About the antenna, the LEGO ones look really big for a so small car, I decided don't but one in the Ecto-1. :)

Quoting TheLegoNoitAll . Great job! :D I love the lights! I used photoscape (not shop) to edit the actual photo, and have recently downloaded GIMP to do the lights, it didn't really do anything, maybe i should watch some tutorials.
Thanks. The light are really simple to do, I don't know if I can post Youtube links on the comments, so if you search on Youtube for "making lights on GIMP" you will easily find how to do this.
Quoting Joao Campos Instantly recognizeable, an impressive amount of details. No doubt, one of your best MOCs. Congrats! -- P.S. Hey, when are we going to see the Audi from the 'I, Robot' movie? ;)
Thank you! the Audi is a really nice idea, I already saw the movie but I never thinked to build that car. I will work on that, but maybe on 6 wide scale, the car have too much curves to make a realistic model on 4 wide scale.
Quoting Starscream Soundwave Neat work, Andy. I love the main photo! Don't you owe credit to Sven though?
Thanks! Ups, I made the presentation quickly and I forgot the credits. I put the credits now, thanks for remind me.

Quoting Matt Bace Wow! Very impressive -- despite its small scale, it is instantly recognizable, even from just the small icon on the MOCpages home page.
Thank you! :)
