A rendition of the "Stuka" G-1, an anti-tank version of one of the most famous German fighters of WWII.
About this creation
This is the Junkers JU-87 Sturzkampffluzeug G-1 variant. Also known as the Stuka G-1 Tank Buster.
The G-1 was designed as an anti-tank fighter and came equipped with two 37mm machine guns which hung from the wings. A pilot by the name of Hans-Ulrich Ruder destroyed 519 Russian armored vehicles with the G-1. If you want to learn some more about this plane and other versions of the stuka, just look at the links provided in the document under the "reference" folder here.
You will also find the old rendition of the Stuka in the folder, with a big yellow nose, can be seen here.
This is beautiful. Nearly perfect. All is great except for the propeller, as other people pointed out, it is too small. However, making a three bladed prop out of legos can be very difficult without the proper pieces. Still a superb MOC. Hopefully I can get some pics of my P-51d Mustang up soon. Keep MOC'n!
The deadly Stuka diver bomber (except when enemy fighters were present). A very good model (I have a 1/35 scale model kit). The book "Stuka Pilot" is indeed a very good personal account of WWII. By the way I found this MOC by simply searching on the word "German". At least half of the matches were WWII military. An interesting commentary on Germany's role in the world?
