C-03 PERCIVAL: MG specifically designed for quick, clean-cut precision strikes.
About this creation
Sidenote: Pronunciation: MEH-tal GEER PER-siv-ul

I've been playing Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance a lot lately (my only MG game, I've been hoping to get my hands on the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, but I can't find it at the moment), and since the other day I built this MOC as a supped-up version of a MOC I'd had previously, I decided I place it on here as a Metal Gear, and a separate/different MOC entirely. Since I decided on an Arthurian theme (due to PERCIVAL wielding a rapier, and looking somewhat knightly), there will be other MGs to follow, namely:

Metal Gear GAWAINE
Metal Gear GALAHAD*
Metal Gear LANCELOT
Metal Gear AGRAVAIN*
Metal Gear EXCALIBUR
Metal Gear CLARENT
Metal Gear MORDRED*

NB: Colours used in HTML do not represent respective colour schemes.

Some of these may never come to be, since I'm not sure if I have enough parts (I may have to go out and buy some more HF sets if that is the case, I'm going for major HF usage to give off that "mecha" vibe) for them all. Ones that would be scrapped in this case are marked with a red (definitely)or yellow (maybe) asterisk.

Anyway, that was a long-winded introduction, so let's get straight onto the MOC.
I might eventually do an extensive analysis(those of you who've seen my self-critique layout used in Hakumen - The White Void will know what I mean), but for now, I can't be bothered. LOL.

When building PERCIVAL (although it wasn't called that at the time), I was initially going for a body suit which fit around the original MOC like a second skin, but I decided against it. I took apart my revamp of Furno XL (one of the MOCs pending on my homepage. I did take a few quick pics though, so that page will still be going ahead at some point.) to make this, though.

Probably the feature I like the most is the combat "skirt". No, scratch that: I absolutely LOOOOOOOOOOVE it. I love combat skirts, they're so cool! Initially, the metallic look of the skirt and the ridged texture of the HF 2013 chest panels it was made from led me to believe that this MOC would be a mecha-samurai kind of MOC, but fate had other ideas. I decided to bulk up the upper arms and give the MOC a rapier instead of a Katana, or some other Japanese weapon.

Fitting in with the Metal Gear theme, the rapier is a High Frequency (HF) blade. Like Raiden's katana or Jetstream Sam's murasama, it is a sword reinforced by a powerful alternating current, and resonates at profoundly high frequencies. The oscillation causes the molecular bonds of anything it cuts to weaken, thereby making it easier to cut.

On PERCIVAL's shoulders are a pair of dual-function weapons: they can either work as machine guns or fire homing lasers. just behind these guns are a pari of "wing" appendages that allow for both flight and hover-gliding; PERCIVAL can rain down death from above or it can confuse the enemy as it hover-glides around.

PERCIVAL also demonstrates extreme physical strength and durability, having proven in the early days of its development to be nigh immune to attacks from HF blades and heavy artillery. It took at least a dozen ICBMs to cause significant damage, and that was just in the development stages.

However, Metal Gear PERCIVAL does have a weakness. Three, in fact. It has three power cores located on it rear side: two smaller cores on the bottom of the back of its legs and one larger core just above the middle of its back. Disabling these three power cores will leave PERCIVAL with only its backup power supply. With this, it will not be able to fire its shoulder-mounted weapons and will be forced to use its legs to move about. It can still use its jet appendages, but it would take up so much power that most likely every other function would be disabled, including physical self-support.
Should all three cores me damaged, PERCIVAL's programming dictates it make an immediate attempt at escape.

I only have a few of pictures at the moment, but tomorrow is my last day of school so I will do a photoshoot tomorrow.
Anyway, here they are. Enjoy! ^_^

Quoting Toa Spirit Pretty cool! Definitely has the mecha feel to it. Love the overall design of it. I hope that the others look as good as this does. I may try something like this. On the subject of mecha have you seen Pacific Rim? It's pretty awesome. There is even a website where you can design a your own Kaiju butt kicking Jaeger here is a link: http://apps.warnerbros.com/pacificrim/designer/us/
Thanks! No, I haven't seen it yet. I want to though.

Quoting L.A. Miranda C'mon, my camera isn't high-technology precisely, but you should be able to change between... How are the names on English... Landscape and Portrait modes? The close-ups are too shiny and blurry, changing the modes should solve that enough.
Lol, I have no idea how to work a camera(s). I know how to turn the flash off, but that's about it. I think that might make a difference, although I'd have to do it in daylight.

Quoting L.A. Miranda As far as I can see, it looks pretty good, but I have to say that I can't see very much! =/ That photo quality needs to be worked, dear. Well, I like the fact that you have made an awesome MOC using mainly HF parts, I really like how it looks. Love the lower part, with those legs and skirt. Good job, dear! But please, set that camera for the next time ;3
Thanks! I just finished building Metal Gear CLARENT, moving onto LANCELOT now, this time going for a more Metal Gear-like structure (basically a bipedal artillery mech). As for the photo quality, it's not gonna get much better anytime soon. I can take them int he daytime, as that helps them appear much sharper, but it's still not a high-res camera to begin with. :/
