BMW 2002 (1974)
A modified version of my original.
About this creation
After seeing Tiler's version on Flickr, I realised the proportions of my model were a little bit off. So I 'borrowed' his rear design, and used it on mine. The main photo has a drawing I did a while back in the background.

Tiler's rear end design in all its glory... I tend to think of myself as a purist, but I don't mind connections like this, as long as they are strong (this is) and as long as they don't harm any parts (this doesn't).

The smooth underside. Nils came up with that on his '02.

Thanks for viewing!

Wow. Just...wow. This is one of the rarer occasions where I can give a 4-wide a true 5/5. Which is what this gets. Excellent!

Quoting XY EZ I just thought I already leaved a comment on your creation, but NO! So excellent job, as all your '02. It is a very realistic little car, so 5/5 ;-)
Thank you very much!

Quoting cyberfrank 2010 yeah! I m not sure on wich I should congratulate you most, the drawing, or the car...I draw too, so I can appreciate, ok, the car then, the proportions are dead-on, the techniques are inspiring, I love that model a lot too, you did it justice, bravo SS!
Thanks a lot, I'm glad you like it!

Quoting Starscream Soundwave ... in small scale (like you say) sometimes there is really only one way to do something. ...
Yeah, it happens from time to time. For example, the lower rear end of my Lotus Esprit is just the same Angka Utama had built for his one. I was working with photos of the real model and didn't realize that coincidence before I compared the pictures of both LEGO models...

Quoting Starscream Soundwave :) I look forward to seeing the modifications!
I finished it yesterday evening. I'll take some decent daylight pictures as soon as possible. Looking at the original picture I made the rear end larger and the window section ("the greenhouse") one stud larger and one plate higher. Then I realized that it now looks even more like your one... Well, sometimes there is only one way to make it right ;-))
Can't wait! Well that's no problem for me, in small scale (like you say) sometimes there is really only one way to do something. Mine borrows Tiler's rear and your curves, so it's become a three way build haha!

Quoting Nils O. The new rear end is very clever, even with the "illegal" connection. But for me the proportions are a little "off". The ground clearance is a little high and the overhang is a little too much. You could try to lower the SNOT part by one plate using a 1x2/2x4 bracket and reduce the overhang by one plate. Anyway, well done, still 4/5 for me :-)) P.S.: You were right with the new proportions, so now it's a 5/5!
Thanks a lot Nils - when I first saw Tiler's I thought the same, but then I realised these were much closer!
