Only using the pieces from Creator set 5867. A modern Formula 1 car with a hint of a Ferrari about it.
About this creation
Just got back from a weeks holiday in Salcombe so I am sorry if I have missed any of your posts. I will try to catch up, but I am moving house tomorrow so I might struggle. Whilst I was away I built this and one other car from this set which I will try to post in a few days.
Nice to see another Formula racer by you, Joe. Hadn't seen one in a while and it's one of the things I know you best for. This is a great build, but the fact that you were able to pull it off while restricting yourself to an alternate build is what really stands out to me here.
Thanks guys. It is not my best work but I am pleased with it overall. Alternative building (only using one set) is fun and quick and you do not need to be so accurate as you can always blame the lack of pieces ;)
@ Nils and Gabor. Thank guys. It was a challenge not to copy other great designs. I did not have internet connection when building this so I did it from memory which actually worked in my favour. I was very tempted to use the upside down technique Nathanael used (for the floor) but I wanted it to be different. The subtle techniques on the rear wing worked out well. Thanks.
Hey mate! Hope you had fun in Salcombe! You had lovely weather for it :-) Great alternative, good idea to take the LEGO away with you ;-) Love the shape of the sidepods and the clever piece usage for the rear wing! Good luck with the move and see you in the new/old house soon!!
I m not good enough in kit knowledge to know the original model, but, the car looks good, f1 s are nt my favs cars, rally are, almost bought a lego cross bike today, maybe in 2 weeks, I ll build that suggestion I gave to you then, it s sure to inspire you!
Quite nice! I have always tried to make alternate builds from sets over the years, and I never come up with anything even close to worth posting, so it is always very impressive for me to see someone do it as well as this, considering the limited brick options. Well done! (And good luck moving!)
