Ford Escort Mk2
THE FINAL SAY IN THE ESCORT SAGA! Bit of a story, it fell of a shelf and broke a bit (well a lot), it then sat in a broken heap for about two months until I thought I would repair it. When repairing it I couldn't help thinking it could do with a re-design to make it a) more sturdy and b) more true to the original car. So to note the changes if you were wondering; -the car itself is 3 studs longer and one stud shorter -the roof is more rectangular, the face has had a massive going over (most importantly the headlights are half a brick out to the egde) -and finally the front fender has been remodelled to be cleaner. I hope you find the changes much more accurate as I do... but enough talk, ENJOY!
About this creation

Close up of the face-lifted front end (now with no licenece plate!)

Upgraded engine complete with carburetor and exhaust ports, oh and a truss rod (if only there wasn't a shadow)

ah that's better

all open

Snow tires on now, and you didn't think I had left out those iconic foglights did you?

oh yeah, MUDFLAPS!

Quoting sam the first jaw-dropping. this is an amazing build and deserves to be more popular.
cheers, and I agree, my first attempt at the MK2 is still more popular and looking back I think it looks terrible... especially in comparison to this one

One of my fave cars ever, and you've NAILED it!! Superb work, I don't think I could better this in any way, it's pretty much perfect : ) 10/10, plus another 1 for the wheels- I normally don't like modded pieces but those look incredible

Quoting MortalSwordsman . Oh it’s brilliant I love it. I liked your original but this is an improvement especially the wheel arches. I really like the overall shape especially the rear and the very front. The truss rod is very simple and works perfectly, I might steal that idea ;). Great job.
go right ahead and steal what you will... But you can never take my FREEDOM :P

Quoting Lego Builders Nicely done! What wheels are those? The spokes look different... -LB Jr.
well they came with the official lego Ferrari Enzo set, and I guess when they were being produced the reverse side (the side you never see on models) only had six spokes as opposed to the new ones with 12. To make them look as they do i masked up the gaps between the spokes and sprayed them silver.

Quoting Starscream Soundwave Neat work, although it looks pretty similar to Dylan's version. I also thought it was a golf in the main photo though. Still, nice work.
RIGHT I'm putting this to bed, Golfs did not have split bumpers, they had much shorter and slightly lower front ends. They also didnt have massive rallying wheel arches, and neither did they have blue ford badges on the nose. Ah, if anyone else calls it a golf, I might just explode :p
