The thermal imaging radar between the hoses gives the operator a better idea of the fire's movement and aids in finding hot spots after the fire is out.

The cockpit tilts forward giving the pilot a better view. The rear of the AFE contains the engines, pumps, and a large tank.

Don't get worried by this view of the cockpit. Although it looks complicated, the computers handle most of the work. Your lowly trained, unskilled laborers can operate the AFE blindfolded (The LIU is not liable for any accidents that occur while flying blindfolded).
