Next MOC in my combined storyline with Cody G is Rahksanne, hope you guys enjoy :) Also big thanks to Instant Noodles for that sick edit on the main picture :D
About this creation
Gender: No Gender, but Rahksanne feels she is female.
Species: Makuta's Creation
Element: Red Lightning
Race: Enhanced Kraata
Title(s): The Night Spark, Sister, Friend, Traitor.
Weapon(s): Red Phoenix (sword), Staff of Darkness (formerly, destroyed)
During the rise of Teridax, Aqua Magna was in turmoil. Rahkshi ran rampant, rounding up Matoran as slaves to the Makuta. When Teridax heard of Mata Nui’s presence on Bara Magna, he knew he had to personally attend to the threat. However, Teridax was unsure of his Rahkshi’s competency to keep Aqua Magna secure while he was away.
Therefore, he began to design a Rahkshi Captain, capable of commanding the hordes in the absence of Teridax. His first attempt was strong, but not creative enough to hold its own against a Toa. Much to Teridax’s frustration, the Captain was quickly destroyed.
After some extensive redesigning, Teridax began work on a second, more powerful Captain named Rahksanne. This Captain was given a higher level of personality than the first. When tested, Rahksanne was more than competent in defeating a Toa. However, Rahksanne was too intelligent to blindly follow orders like other Rahkshi, and Makuta failed to instill evil into the Captain when creating it. Rahksanne defeated the Toa, but hesitated on a killing stroke.
Teridax ended the fight, and recalled Rahksanne. Considering the Rahkshi to be a failure, Teridax put the Rahksanne into storage. There, it was able to think. She, for the Captain had decided that it was feminine being, realized the evil that Teridax had inside him, and resolved to smite the Makuta the first chance she got.
A few weeks later, she got the chance when Teridax’s next creation, called Cossy, rebelled and freed Rahksanne and some Toa that were also imprisoned. They were, however, re-captured and forced to face the full wrath of Makuta. After obliterating one of the Toa with a mighty fist, Teridax set the Rahkshi hordes upon the surviving group.
The Rahkshi, while individually weaker than Cossy or Rahksanne, overwhelmed them with numbers and incapacitated the group. The Rahkshi especially hated Rahksanne, considering her to be a traitor to their race.
Rahksanne’s staff was taken from her and broken in two, taking away her power over Darkness. They were hauled into Makuta’s robot body and imprisoned until he was defeated by Mata Nui.
After the fall of Makuta, Cossy, Rahksanne, and the other surviving Toa (a Toa of Red Lightning named Josan and a wise Toa of Light named Lakuva) formed a team known as the Sentinels, who were tasked with freeing Spherus Magna from the remainder of Teridax’s forces and other dangers
They successfully defeated many an opponent, despite Rahksanne’s lack of powers and Cossy’s difficulty controlling his Makuta-designed bloodlust. However, the Sentinels faced a particularly powerful evil that defeated the four heroes. Josan was killed, and Cossy was wounded before they could escape.
Rahksanne hated herself for lacking the power to save Josan, and feared that she might be unable to aid Cossy should he find himself in a life-threatening scenario. Both she and Cossy were created by Makuta, so Rahksanne considered Cossy to be family, and shuddered at the thought of losing him.
She took her concerns to Ignam, the blacksmith Matoran who freed Cossy from Teridax’s command. Ignam was a wise Matoran, and found a way to use the heartlight of the late Josan to forge a blade for Rahksanne.
Similar to her original Staff of Darkness, this sword, named the Red Phoenix, gave Rahksanne the power over Red Lightning. With her newfound power, Rahksanne and Cossy returned to the city where the evil was brooding, and dispatched it with ease.
Due to the success of Cossy and Rahksanne, the Toa Mata decided to grant Cossy the title of Lord of Blue Flame, and assigned him a Toa team with Lakuva. Much to Rahksanne’s disappointment, she was not given a position on Cossy’s team.
Cossy naturally asked her to join him, but she declined. If the wise and mighty Toa Mata did not see her as worthy to be considered a Toa, she figured the young heroes that made up Cossy’s Toa Lotem would also be unable to accept her less than Toa-like form.
She left Cossy to roam the desert, thwarting raid attempts of Bone Hunters and Skrall bandits on travelling Matoran. Rahksanne did not wish to frighten the Matoran she saved, so she adopted an elusive nature.
These mysterious encounters with a lightning-powered vigilante led Matoran to give her the nickname, “The Night Spark”.
Occasionally, Rahksanne and Cossy cross paths, but their duties often keep them apart: two legends, both with the same origin, but forever separated by different destinies.
And that's Rahksanne :D
Just wanna show you guys the three of them on my Shelf, Rahksanne, Cossy and Ignam :D
Fourth Wall Commentary:
So here is Rahksanne, the MOC that started the combining of Cody's and my storyline :) For those wondering Cody just one day came up with the idea for Rahksanne and asked if he could build her and put her into my storyline. I loved the idea and we got talking. We then just decided to combine our storylines :)
Even since those Quaza spike pieces came out I really wanted to use them on a Rahkshi, and Rahksanne was the perfect excuse! Also the spine design I used here was inspired by
Fenrek's spine design. Also I'm really pleased with that arm design on this MOC, hope you like it :)
As for my next post I would like to build Lakuva, if not him then Shakahv (who is close to being finished but may need a Bricklink order or two first) As of now I don't have any finished MOC's to post, so hopefully I will be able to finish one for next week, if not my next post should be in a couple of weeks :)
The only thing about this that bugs me is the tail. Not a lot, it just sort of doesn't look right to me. Everything else, though, is amazing. My favorite parts are the torso and the story behind the character.
When I was building my first Rahkshi in a long time I was browsing through Moc Pages and found this... Although now he is a lot smaller than Rahksanne and kinda hangs with the turtles xD
(Might remember Rajskil?)
Wow. This is amazing. Though personally, I think the neck doesn't look enough like a Rahkshi. I think it should be a little thinner, but the rest is excellent. It reminds me of the Xenomorph from Alien. especially the tail and arms. And that is never a bad thing. 5/5
So awesome! I noticed that her eyes were green, soooo... how u do dis? Color correction? Or is that an actual neon green hand piece? It was neon, so I'm pretty sure that it wasn't just a green hand :P
Anyhow, so epic! Loving the staff, and the use of quaza spikes for spines :D Just an overall awesome look! nice job bro :)
How exactly do you expect me to comment on this epic moc without freaking out ?! :O Your mocs always impress me but this is unreal. First I gotta say you truly captured the "movie-look" and feel of this moc. The build and designs/part choice are absolutely incredibly clever. I can see you did take a bit of inspiration from other people's Rahkshi mocs, but that's perfectly fine ! :D Your combination of technic and hero factory is masterful. (I've seen Fenrek do some impressive stuff too but this is really smooth looking)BTW, why does the link to fenrek's page redirect me to my own ? Anyways, super happy to see you back again, actually makes me want to come back even more to this community :D (and I will soon)
I really like that moc , and also if you dont mind , im trying to copy it , for my collection , i will not put it online , i just want to make it so i can display it in my room, (if anyone asked who made it i'll totally give you all the credits for it ).I was wondering if you had made some instruction for it , if so it would be really be appreciated (and easyier to figure out lol) if you could send them to me , only if you want to , come check out my mocs if you want , and tell me what you think of them , i dont have many posted, because i dont always have acess to the internet, anyways , keep on moccing, and have a good day .... p.s: im putting you as a favorite builder .
Brilliant! I love the sleek feel she has, especially those legs! The colors work well together and really make her seem more like one of Makuta's creations. And those spines... love it! Altogether an outstanding Bionicle!
I'm excited to see you back and posting more and more.
So my work is rubbing off on some people huh? Great moc and love the red/black colouring. The eyes stand out so much against the rest of the moc too that it's almost eerie. Overal a pretty cool Rahkshi moc.
Really good moc you've got here, Ben! Black and red is the color combination of the century :D I'm really loving the arms and the spine (obviously) because the way you made the armor plating is masterful. I can't say I'm really digging the legs though, because the angle of the digitigrade legs looks as if she's always sitting down. I don't know if that's posing or if that's how it was built, but I think there's a potential for this to look more feral. Now, I have to get to building my Rahkshi...
HAHA I was wondering when someone would ask me that... I don't know, I just kinda prefer to reply to heaps of comments in the one comment, rather then spam the comments with 10 reply's. That and I think not using it just pretty's up things :P
Hey Cossy, I have a question for you. Not to sound rude, but why don't you use the reply feature? Is there some reason why you do it?Again I'm not trying to be rude here, but I just always wondered why you do that.
Thanks all :D Woops, just noticed that too X :P HAHA I'll just say the name can have two spellings :P Since Cody and I have combined our storylines Glorified Pessimist, my story is his, so yes, she does die in our story. I agree Coconut, about those legs, need to fix that! Cheers Wertman ;) I gave her the chicken leg design since she is meant to be a bit of a super Rahkshi, so I wanted her to be different :) Thanks Clever Crowe :D Thanks Taile. I agree with you on the tail, as for the sword, I’m not great at building weapons, so one may come later, and I'll include it in another post :)
Ben, love everything about this well-shaped fig, EXCEPT the abruptness of the tail-shape emerging from the base of the spine. Just some constructive criticism, I think tapering would've benefited it, a bit. GREAT torso, very nice closure with your greeble-use (has added well to completeness in your limb-shapes). Overall nice work, my compliments. =D
Awesome dude! I really like her Staff, it reminds me of Lerahk's Staff. Her torso design is really nice, It looks very flexy and runs the whole way through. My only real gripe is the legs. I can understand the use of the feet, because they were designed with the original Rahkshi, but they really don't work well with triple segment legs like that. I would make them into two segments, considering Rahkshi never had three segmented legs. But maybe I'm nitpicking. Great MOC; maybe my favorite from you! Well done bro!
It is a great use of those Quaza spikes, they really do fit Rahkshi very well. The overall construction is very well built, it flows nicely and isn't interrupted by any gaps and cracks in the armor. Her positions in the pictures (to me anyway) makes it seem like she's sitting on an invisible chair. A pose with extended upper legs would be helpful.
HAHA thanks so much Gat :) Those are the comments that make being on MOCpages awesome ;) Glad you like her man. Oh ...OH! you are very right on the knees! I will fix that... or pose her better, whatever :P Thanks again dude ;)
Masterful! It's clear you've put a lot of thought into how Rahksanne would move, both as a model and as a living, breathing(?) entity. The tube work on the body is excellent, the spine is nigh on perfect, and the stomach area looks like a series of sliding plates. The aspect of the MOC I really don't like are the knees, but that's probably more to do with how you've posed them instead of the actual build. The angle's too acute. She looks like she's sitting down all the time.
Thanks all :) Sounds cool Toa Spirit, no rush :) Glad you like it X, thanks for the in depth comment. The tail and chicken legs are a storyline thing, to set her apart from normal Rahkshi I added that :) No. No X that will not happen, no more year breaks. What do you mean a staff Snaggletooth? Do you not see the staff in the pictures? Anyway thanks again all ;)
Well another master piece from mister Cossy!
I like dat color scheme(but who doesn't!).
The chicken legs are a nice touch, bit considering Rahkshi only have straight legs...It's kinda weird, but it works IMO.
Nice job using the lime green hand to correspond with the lime heartlight!
The torso is amazing, all those greebles! And the tubes going through the torso are pretty cool!
The arm design is great, the use of the circle type pieces to make arm movement is a VERY nice touch!
The lower arm design looks as great as the upper arm design, both very fantastic!
Tail is a nice touch, but for me it looks weird on a Rahkshi character.
I also really like how the color scheme is kept without ruining it, by adding the green!
The staff design(for Reap) looks like it was inspired by some type of noodles...Instant Noodles!
Despite that it looks and fits the character very well!
And the story was enjoyable, just as Cossy's was.
Overall it's a great moc worthy of being held in one of the Bionicle Gods home.
.....no Cossy, you post soon...weeks becomes months, than months become YEARS!Seem Familiar.... :P
Nice job Ben! I like the spine and the legs are cool too. I wanted to let you know I've started building Rahksanne. It might take me awhile to build Cossy though because I'm having trouble finding a Surge.
Thanks Callan. I didn’t really want to go for a really feminine look on this one Caleb, mainly since Rahkshi are meant to be genderless. But yeah, I could have done a bit more to it. Huh did not know that Reaper :P Maybe I’m just uneducated :P Again thanks all ;)
This is very nice. I've always thought that those spikes were perfect for Rahkshi as well, but have never had the time to sit and think about how to incorporate them. Calling the matoran Ingam made me laugh. It sounds (and looks) almost like the brand of chicken. I'm impressed with the staff, though I think I've seen a similar design somewhere before. What I'm really impressed with is that you managed to keep the dust off all that black. The homeage to the original Rahkshi (the feet) was a nice touch. Ever envious of your Mr. Gold.
