Pokemon-Mecha: Series One
A new form of Pokemon battle has been created, where giant mechs known as Poke-Mecha, engage in large-scale Pokemon battles. A highly dangerous, but fun sport.
About this creation

My three month-long Lego project is finally completed (took long enough..)

Introducing the three starters: Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise, in mecha form.

These giant mechs (which has Pokemon trainers or pilots controling them) engage in large-scale Pokemon battles known as Poke-mecha.

____

My first mecha, Venusaur, took the longest time to make (a full month), due long time of finding and acquiring the rare color medium azure/maersk blue and struggling to make a sturdy quadruped mech.

______

Charizard is my favorite of the three. His complicated head and wings made it a very difficult and challenging build to pull off.

I also added some rockets on his back to give him that SWOOSH! feeling (However, I think he would fall apart instantly if I did that...)

The hardest bit about him was the photography, which is why he is a little brighter than the rest (if you were wondering why you were slightly blinded).

_____

Blastoise was my first Poke-mecha, which is also a solid build that won't fall apart easily.

His design and cockpit was mainly inspired by Garry_rock's recent line of mechs, and from this helpful insider - http://www.flickr.com/photos/tromas/8412559065/in/faves-36769850@N05/

Building three large-scale Pokemon at once is a massive undertaking for me (which explains why I haven't posted anything in a while). This is also my first time in building mecha (although I think I did a good job on my first try :D )

I'm thinking of making more of the Kanto series before moving on to the recent ones (like the new "Mega-Pokemon" or maybe Metagross).

Hi ! Have you heard about Geek-Art.net and the Geek-Art Art book ? I'm working on the volume 2 and I'd be glad to count some of your work in it. Could you please contact me via the contact form on my website ? Best Thomas

Quoting Artypants is awesome Looks great! I didn't realise you were on Flickr, I will look there for more of your great builds! Out of intrest, is anything happening with the red death? Or have you left it and moved on? Just wondering.
The Red Death is on hold indefinitely, as I've been piecing him together for the past year. The initial design of the dragon is almost the size of a SHIP build, and with little experience in making something so large I'm putting the project off for now. However, I should say that he is partially completed (although very unstable) from the head to neck, and both front feet. Without a supporting frame he might undergo another redesign. I don't have the required colors of Bley yet, so right now he's in a multiple-colored state. But quite honestly, he gives me a head ache >)

Quoting James Bond Bro beans, you better make more of these :D These are awesome!!!!! You could make like the starters of each generation or something :D But awesome work ;)
You're not far from that idea. Right now I'm planning on making more designs, but the next series I've planned will be based on the Johto pokemon.

Cool Beans! These mocs will make me a follower of Pokemon for sure. You got a potential idea for a cartoon spin-off there.

Amazing! Brilliant work, they look beautiful, but to include a rider kicks it up a notch. Lots of clever building, I love Charizard's wings in particular.

Impressive...Most impressive. Charizard was definitely my favorite. I liked how he was able to fit in his belly! Clever!

Nice stuff! I was sold utterly when I saw that minifigs actually had their own place inside the mechs. I always found that people say their creation(s) has a pilot, but the MOC itself isn't designed as such. Great work! I wish I was as good with System as this. The only LEGO I'm good with is BIONICLE/Hero Factory. Oh well. ^_^"
