FN SCAR-L + Lego rant
This gun was a pain to make without it falling apart everywhere, i ended up making a lot of technic stuff on the insides too make it stronger. It ended up working, but i also made a colorful technic stand! Anyways, i am extremely annoyed with Lego's "Pick-A-Brick". I ordered them August 1st, and apparently they are not arriving until the 28th! I think its insane that a huge company like Lego takes almost an entire month to get me my legos, when i am obviously needing them as soon as possible, because i was working on a project. I live in WI which shouldn't be far from where they are made at all. I mean come on! The company makes so much money and they cant afford to make another carrier or something? When i called, the lady who answered didn't really know much about her job it sounded like, and every time me or my dad asked why the heck it is going to take that long, she gave some lame excuse like "Lego bricks are only made in Poland". okay i find that extremely hard to believe haha.....This is why people use BrickLink. Okay back to the gun, i made it white and black, mainly because the black pieces i needed aren't coming until the 28th. Features: -Two different magazines-6 position extendable stock- Realistic field strip- Working safety- Working trigger- Working mag release and catch- Working charging handle catch- Working charging handle- Optional double sided charging handle- Flip up iron sights- Under-barrel shotgun(improved)- working pump action- working trigger - Silencer. Enjoy!
About this creation

First pic, pretty basic and not much to say here.

This gun didn't have as much width changes as most of my other ones, but it still proved to be a challenge because of my lack of white stud mergers/Jumpers.

The six positions stock fully extended, with the silencer on, it measures a little over 46" long!

Right side, you can see how much detail i put into this!

For the three holes towards the end of the top right, i used "L" pieces to give it the indent, without you being able too see the rubber band/straight trough the entire weapon.

All the working buttons, including the mag release, the charging handle catch, and the safety. Oh and the trigger.

A first person shot for a lefty shooter, the iron sights are pretty sweet huh?

Another picture of the six-position stock.

Yes, Yes it does...

Realistic field strip, its hard to believe the entire upper receiver is only being held to the lower receiver by a few stud and an axel huh?

Same shot except the stock thingy taken off too.

Shot off the lower receiver, this picture reminds me a lot of my M1911.

Upper shot, the 1x2 pieces coming up are what lock into the shell eject. i will explain this later.

Another picture of the side button stuff.

Safety on.

Safety off.

This is the main mechanism. The scar L's shell eject is directly stuck to the higher mechanism of the charging handle. At first, if they were connected by studs, the charging handle wouldn't go far enough back for the visible part you can see coming out of the gun, because of a lack of space for the shell eject. To solve this, when you pull back the charging handle, it does not catch onto the shell eject slide until it is around half way pulled back. Tan is where the charging handle would be, and the gap on the bottom left of the shell eject, is where what i talked about earlier, locks into place. And of course the insides of the creation does not look exactly like this, this is just a basic representation.

The two different charging handles. Pretty easy to switch around.

The two different magazines, each use the same locking mechanisms or course.

The other mag in.

Another shot of the mag except with the sights flipped down.

No mag in!

A pic of the silencer, this used the last of my slopes. But dont worry i ordered more and tehy should be here soon.... oh wait...NEVERMIND!

This is an improved version of my last one, which was on my AK-47.

Another picture except from the side.

A pic with both connected! Think of this creation as a "goodbye" to my old and worn down lego pieces. And if you plan on commenting on my rant towards Lego, please also comment on the gun, or it will be deleted. My own creation, not My own rant;P And if you do all that, you mine as well rate it too! thanks! -Silly.

Quoting Legobob 29 This is seriously cool. I wish I had the bricks to make guns like yours! I'll have to see how much it'll cost to get a large amount of black bricks to make some ;) Really awesome! The sleek design of this thing is amazing. It looks fantastic, and exactly like the real thing! I really like the pistol grip/magazine area. Looks great. Keep it up!
Thanks! try Bricklink.com!

Awesome! I am a huge fan of the scar-H. I actually really like it the way that part of it is white. It looks like it's in winter camouflage. 5/5!

possibly the most realistic lego scar-l i have ever seen, well done indeed and don't worry my fn81a gpmg was the same, i almost gave up on it and at least you can buy bricks, i am stuck with rainbow builds which means my builds are less popular, soz i am having a Lego rant now :)keep up the good work, look forward to see your other projects.

Nice gun. Now, to your rant. I don't have to wait for more than two weeks for a PAB order, so. But its important to note that LEGO's PAB is operated out of its Poland factory, and that is it. Every time I get an order from them, it is postmarked Poland. That one factory supplies the entire world; its a blessing you could get your parts in the first place. Also, it depends on when you order, but usually, holiday seasons pack in an extra week or so. And finally, just use BL. Its cheaper, you have much more parts at your fingertips, and it is quite safe.

Use BL from now on. Stuff is almost always here within a week, dirt cheap prices, and huge selection. About the gun, it's perfect! I love the shotgun attachment. The shotgun looks much better.

This is very very nice! I am amazed how many more working features are in yours compared to mine! And regarding your rant, i've ordered from PAB a few times and it does take quite a while which can get annoying, but i guess you just have to deal with it haha. Again great work but if you don't mind i'd like to mention that the end part of the stock, the extendable part, could be a bit smaller maybe, it looks a bit dispreportioned to the rest of the gun, but good job!

Quoting Chris K This is awesome! It has so many amazing features! And regarding the PAB order you made, from my experience, they uasually do come from Poland. (I think it may matter what pieces you order.)I've made a couple Bricklink orders recently, and I probably won't be buying from Lego anymore! Bricklink is cheaper, faster, and has pretty much every Lego piece you could want! Trust me, just buy from Bricklink next time. Great job on the rifle ;)
thanks! and yes ive used bricklink before. but my dad dint like that it was mostly in euros or something. and yeah bricklink is way better in prices too
