After escaping the mysterious tunnels between Rainos and Mythron, Steven of Rainos and his band of Bull Clan soldiers and rescued tunnel-dwellers travelled south from Meids into the barbarian-controlled half of Falmore to seek assistance from the local king. When they arrived, they found the former outpost much changed by the addition of a massive hall and about a thousand Rainosians of every type. As the others began to explore the tents and stalls of the newcomers, Steven went to look for the king in the hall.

He was soon hailed by a familiar sergeant of the Dragon Clan, who appeared to be escorting a Mythronian officer with the help of an Iber soldier.

"Steven, my favorite springaldier! If you're looking for food, there is none to be had; they aren't laying the tables until sunset."

"I'm looking for King Alberto, actually. Have you seen him?"

"Here he comes now."

"Hail, your majesty!"

"Sorry, do I... Ah, private! I am glad to see that you are well. Have you come for the feast?"

"It's sergeant now, your Highness, and actually, although you have been so gracious to myself and my comrades in the past, I have a favor to ask...."

"What kind of favor?"

The king was attempting to sound magnanimous, but the new hall and its inauguratory banquet had undoubtedly stretched his finances. His previous gift to Steven and his friend William Farrer had also been far from stingy (see my Felmore Tower episode). Steven decided to speak carefully.

"I do not ask for myself. My comrades and I rescued a party of four elves while passing through the tunnels, and they have no place of shelter. I thought perhaps they could become members of your garrison here."

Again the king seemed reticent. Garrisons required wages, provisions, and housing, and to take on four strangers of unknown merit was not an appetizing proposal.

"All of them are experienced fighters, and knowledge of the woodlands is in their blood. Besides, they come with a man's weight in goblin silver."

The Iber lord's eyes widened.

"My friend, I cannot possibly accept. That much silver could fund a fair-sized troop for a year!"

Again Steven compensated.

"Then if I might make a suggestion, fund a troop for half a year and allow me to purchase a portable springald from your armory with the other half to make up for equipment lost in the tunnels."

Alberto III smiled.

"The bargain is fair. I will see your quartet of elves, and when you visit my armorer, tell him to supply you with a fine suit of armor as well; I mean no disrespect, but your current attire displays its history of service rather sharply."

The feast met and exceeded expectations. Steven (in between drinks, dances, and other dangers) caught glimpses of members of every Rainosian clan, and even a few Mythronians who had stopped in for a good time.

After an hour or two, the Bull Clan legionnaire decided to move to the sidelines and wait for the world to stop spinning. He found an empty seat between the official-looking fellow he had seen that afternoon and a brawny adventurer with a heavy staff. The former appeared to be watching the dances, and Steven had to fight down an urge to ask the latter what he was in for.

Instead, he asked what the man was doing in Falmore.

"Scum," was the reply. "I stood for Mythron and fought invading scum, I stood for myself and fought any scum, I stood for Nerogue and fought moral scum, and now I'm back at Felmore Fortress, standing for Rainos and probably fighting whatever they see as scum."

"Well, okay then..."

Steven turned to his other neighbor.

"What about you?"

"Huh? Oh, I'm just here for the food."

Steven wasn't feeling well enough to provide an answer to that response, so he sat staring kind of stupidly at the other guest.

He was rescued by the interjection of another guest (whose out-of-place armor looked as if it hadn't seen the light of days for centuries).

"Hey, a few guys were thinking of holding a treasure hunt. Anyone here up for it?"

Everyone remarked that it sounded like a good idea, and it wasn't until his head stopped hurting that Steven realized what exactly the man had meant by "treasure hunt".

The Window in the Fourth Wall

Hello, everyone. I'll be brief here.
This is one of my favorite structures to date, partially because of the ingenious diagonal flooring technique that I used on the wall (If anyone remembers who invented it, please tell me). Of course, the slanted floorboards, staggered stonework, SNOT, delicate "woodwork", and odd offsets helped too. Basically, I continued intrepid quest for new techniques and enjoyed the result. Someday perfection will be mine....

Now for the figs!

Gormeing, Steven, and Rego Arian in the Toa Infernum style

Gormeing, Steven, and Harek Russel in the Despathens style

I would appreciate it if you would tell me what you plan on wearing for the rest of the builds or if you prefer one version of my sig-fig to the other, especially Night Reaper, so I can get to work on the next part of the adventure!

The former. I was intending to read through your whole story, but then at the underground one I realized how long it was and decided to just look back at some of the MOCs. I might read your side characters' stories, though.

Quoting Halhi 141 Lovely build, I keep coming back to this one. It would be interesting to see a full building made with this level of detail.
Bored or thinking about the MOC-off?

Quoting Toa Infernum Wow! Incredible work! My fig looks great! I'll make some changes to my version of Steven to make him more accurate.. ;).
What, you're going to create a new version of your earlier version of my version of my character to match my version of your version of my version? Or are you simply going to make a new version that resembles my original version well enough to replace your original version of my original version, which I used as the basis for my latest version? Either way... Yikes.

Quoting Night Reaper Great episode, love my personality :P. Ho hum, not sure which me I like better. I like my previous style, but it just doesn't seem "Rainosian". Oh wait, I have an idea. That will be my formal attire, and the other will be my battle wear.
Great, now I can return all of those borrowed fleshy and LOTR pieces.

Quoting George Marshall Looks great! I like how you blocked out the ugly part of that horrid female troll! Great job!
That wig has been scientifically proven to make any minifigure look feminine. It's true; I tried it out on all sorts of grotesque hairy male heads and it altered apparent gender by up to 90 percent.
