We do have a category on MOCpages called: LEGO IN REAL LIFE. Well on tonight's news a story came up that showed how LEGO can be used in REAL LIFE, it was the story of CHRISTINA STEPHENS an amputee! She didn't let the fact she lost a limb let her down, she loved lego since a kid and went about creating an artificial limb for herself out of LEGO! Imagine that! LEGO! Stephens has a knack for building and fixing things. In January, she was changing the brake pads on her Prius in her St. Louis garage when the car slipped off its jack stand and landed on her left foot. Her husband, Christopher, used a hydraulic jack to lift the car off her and then rushed her to the hospital. She figured the foot was probably broken, but no worse. "It didn't look that bad," Stephens recalled. Within weeks, though, her toes and other parts of her foot turned gray, then black. Her surgeon believed he could save the foot, but there was no guarantee it would be functional, Stephens said. "He wanted to do a partial foot amputation with multiple skin grafts over my foot and ankle, possible fusions," she recalled. As a child, Christina Stephens filled her parents' basement with Lego castles and pirate ships. When she put her Lego-building skills to work last month making a prosthetic leg out of the children's toy, she became an Internet sensation."I thought my Legos video had some viral potential but I had no idea it would explode like it did," she said. And so a Youtube Video was posted and...her construction of a prosthetic leg out of hundreds of Lego pieces that made her an Internet star. The YouTube video has more than 1.3 million views since it was posted in early July. Cool! I would not put my foot in lego though, because I could get my footprints on them or something! Even though lego is my favorite thing do!

this kind of accident happened to me, it really was sheer luck that I did nt got my leg crushed, the jack was too weak to support the car, it s a lesson I have learned real well that day, original manufacture jacks are dangerous, I bought myself a real heavy jack afterwards, + always left a wheel under the car as safety, learn this lesson well folks, she had the worse that could happen, as for the limb, it s original, but, it will have to be functional to impress me, some technics parts are needed to achieve this goal, as it is, it s colorful decoration, it does nt help improving anybody s life quality or anything, I can t wait until she manages to do a limb she can actually walk with. good luck!
