A39 Tortoise (WIP)(RC)
This will be one of my largest creations posted on mocpages as of so far and this is one of the first A39 Tortoise's that i have seen on mocpages but i have seen other pictures of them on google. The tortoise is another of the allies prototype tanks designed to break through the Sigfreid line. this tank is of the British manufacture and is very similar to the T28/95 superheavy tank. specifications length 49 studs, width 24 studs(approximately), hight 20 studs, and weighing in at around 7lbs. Features, working V12 engine, gun movement in all directions, working suspension, and it can drive (thanks to a XL motor powering the sprockets with a 5:1). this tank is approximately 1/20 a very close scale to sariel's T28/95(1/18). Note there wont be a vid until its finished.
About this creation

the V12 engine(working)

Here you are looking dow the barrel of its 94mm QF 32 pounder(the thing you don't wanna see if you are a German tank)

the suspension bogies these are what im most proud of from this tank(need to order more 6.5L hard shock absorbers) and this resembles a HVSS a lot so i might use these on a Sherman tank

pics of the beast crushing my Porsche 911(also the 8t driving the 40t gear make it practically unstoppable)

Anymore photos of the updated version will be posted Here until I can access my computer and post a final version with better pics

Quoting Alex Sonny Oh lord, I am LOVING THIS! First, the scale! It is BIG! And so perfectly shaped! The front is spot on, with the gun shield and the gun housing portruding from the superstructure. The muzzle brake looks spot on as well, the real tortoise had the same thing! And finally, the suspension. It's the best design I've seen yet, failry compact, yet perfectly functional! My vafourite MOC from now on, no doubt! Oh and, while you're wondering what to build next... I highly recommend making a TOG II, it is the derpiest tank to date :D my next creation will probably be a m4e8 or a Sherman firefly with a mine flail or a dozer blade. There already is 1 tog II on MOCpages but I really want t Keep building this well, mate!
my next build will be a m4e8 or a Sherman firefly with mine flail or dozer blade. I have already seen a tog II on MOCpages I'm kinda thinking something German maybe a panther or a elefant for a build after that (because I will be able to get parts after Christmas )

After doing some research on the Internet It turns out that the Krokodil is a fake tank :( so I guess I will have to find something else that would be awesome to build I was thinking a jagdtiger II if that exists??? or a TOG II, or a jagdtiger

Sweet pics it shows some of the layouts and suspension I was looking for more things to build and I might build a German E100 krokodil TD but I need to order 36 6 stud dia inverted radar dishes. So that won't be built until maybe this January here's a pic of the krokodil http://houseofqueeg.files.wordpress.com/2012/10/x-tank-sizes-1200px.jpg

Quoting re465 . But it will be a slow-motion battle, since speeds are under 10km/h. Actually, now you can rebuild this tortoise with Maus-Ketten, to a proper size ;)
I wish I could build it in 1/15th but I already spent $80 on this and I have plans for a Sherman next you could try building it if you want

Quoting re465 . This is a kind of "british" Maus. Only 6 were made, never used in war. Or compare to T28 U.S. tank, only 2 were made, same fate... If these 3 would have met in battlefield, like 3 tyrannosaurs roaring each other ;)
That would be a interesting battle . I have always been fascinated with superheavy tanks so this build was quite fun to work on and hopefully I will be able to post this when its finished in a couple weeks a lot has changed o it since these photos were taken and right now I'm waiting for a bricklink order of 6.5l shocks.

you could always put a technic axle rod inside for more strength. I think it would be closer than the 1x1 cylinders.

Quoting claw paradox Try using just a 2x2 cylinder (it's the only piece I can really think of that's the closest to the right thickness.) Also try adding some smoke grenade launchers and spare treads on the sides to make it look cooler.
Won't it be too thick then and it will have a worse problem with barrel wobble. I wish lego made a part that was 1.5st wide unless I do a square barrel but that Would lack strength.

Did some major modifications today. 1 beefed up suspension axles for road wheels(had problems with half bushing coming of after short period swiched out the 4st axles for 5st and put on full bushing) 2 changed triangular parts on manlet so they are now at a angle instead of being straight on. 3 added drivers and radiomans hatch(work) 4 finished rear and added a engine deck(need to figure out how engine hatch opens on real tank. I won't be able to post anymore MOCs for awhile due to school coming up :(

Quoting claw paradox awesome! I would suggest making the gun a bit thicker.
I'm not sure what to use any suggestions?
