31006 Indian Chief, inspired by an American Off-roader.
About this creation
When i started this alternativ, I wasnīt quite sure about, what kind of car I was going to build. But after adding the whells, I thought it had to be some kind of offroader due to the height. Next came the front grill, and then I realized it could be somthing like the Cherokee Chief 79 I once owned. It took me 4-5 evenings, still trying to improve the rear of the car, before I was happy with the result, and leaving 35 parts in the box.

I think it came out quite good, but what do you think?

Hi! It looks very realistic. This set has a lot of potential. The rear window build technic is very creative. I will build it at the next week.

Quoting Stephane Ankh Nice ALT. >> I never upload LXF-files. My point of view is that it spoils creativity. Sorry, but you're wrong. Some musicians can play anything by ear, others need note-sheets. I need Building Sheet ;-) You can't expect every lego builder to be creators. Every musicians are not composers.
Thank you for commenting. As you can see by my recent build (31006 Dune Buggy), I have partly changed my mind in terms of building instructions. Creator sets are ideal to attach building instructions, as these sets are readily available to all. However, I think it is a good challenge, to see how a build is made, without building instructions. This challenge is learning by doing, and you achieve a high degree of satisfaction when you succeed.

I never upload LXF-files. My point of view is that it spoils creativity. Just take a good look at the Pictures, and then Iīm sure you will be able to recreate the Indian Chief, - have fun.

Quoting Nathanael Kuipers Very nice! It reminds me quite a bit of the official 5867 alternate combined with some parts of my pick-up wrecker. The solution for the side window in particular is very creative. Well done!
Thank you! I haven`t thought about this resemblance, so I found a picture of the 5867 alternate on brickset, and your 5867 wrecker, and I can see what you mean. But, honestly - I havenīt looked at any of them during the building period. I am glad , you liked the construction.

Quoting MortalSwordsman . I really like this. You have used some really clever sideways building techniques. I think the rear worked out very well and front looks great too. I would have been tempted to use the wheel hubs. An excellent alternative.
Thanks a lot ! I tried with the hubs on, but somehow the low-profile look doesnīt fit an offroader.
