Brilliant work!! Those colors... "Sigh" I wish I was back in the mid-80's. Youth is far now.

Truly one of your best CS sets ever! If this were on the shelf next to the Beta-1 Command Base, I would have honestly chosen this one. The feel of CS is oozing from this by the metric ton. Love the rover and the flyer. But it is the center that is head over heels brilliant. All the features inside with a cool little details and of course a sink. =D This is exemplary of one of those sets that Lego came out with that instantly unlocked ALL imaginative possibilities at once, like the Galaxy Explorer. WAY BEYOND BRILLIANT!

Quoting Senator Chinchilla . Epic remake! All the class of the original without those "pesky" studs.
Those round grey 1x1 tiles, the enemy of the stud. The Bricklink wall had them so I scooped a good handful, or two.

Quoting Tim C Right out of the 70's, man. Love the overall look of it. The vehicles look great and the huge dish is a nice touch. I also like how you mixed up the old and new pieces. The older computer printed pieces give it a pronounced dated look, but the newer pieces give it the more current feel, as though the technology was further along than the LEGO designers were able to do back then. As always, this CS MOC looks like it could have come out of a set from the day. Well done, David.
It's funny, this was such a simple little build, but it seems to have hit some nostalgic nerve in all of us of a certain age. I remember as a kid, my brother and I would assess each others builds, with the ultimate compliment being hat could be an actual set. Maybe I've got there.

Quoting Topsy Creatori (StoveTopCreator!) Classic Space gone sleek and 21st century! What fun! :)
Boxy but still sleek. Also to note in this world hoverbikes are still controlled by steering wheels.

Quoting cyberfrank 2010 oh yeah! CS bliss! nice little command post! I started a cs project, inspired by your truck from a few weeks ago, you ll love it, why did nt you use the crater plate on this?
My crater plates are in very poor condition, that's the simple answer. Looking forward to your CS build.

Quoting JWG 258 It takes a combination of playability, simplicity, and durability to make models for children. You got the combination right with this MOC.
It is fun working in this way, you need to make play features, but hinges and the like can easily confound small hands. I think I got the balance right here.

Quoting Ape Fight This is my kind of MOC : ) It looks neat and is super playable too. Shame 1960's building design lasted into the Classic Space era though! 5 stars on play value alone.
Boxes aren't the worst style you know.

Quoting Starscream Soundwave What a lovely little set. I would've got hours of fun out of this, if I were a few years younger. Well to be honest I could probably get hours of fun out of it now! The clean and smooth look is great, and I love the vehicles. Excellent work!
You know it only takes a little CS to bring the child out in all of us.
