Another upgrade for the big nose.
About this creation

Shoooommm! Another day, another scenic planetary fly-by.

This latest incarnation of the Nasal Avenger offers more upgrades over the original Nasal Avenger and the Nasal Avenger 2 .

Though it still maintains it's basic nasal shape, it's now more of a "Roman nose" with the addition of a new main deflector and internal missile bay.

The main engine is the same as the second, with working lights , but the Avenger's wings and outboard landing thrusters changed significantly. The ship now features larger, circular shaped thrusters on each wing that can rotated 360 degrees on the vertical axis.

A "nose-on" view offering a better look at the new deflector dish. Just above the deflector is the door to the internal missile bay. Also note the inward pivoting fins on the wing pylons.

The landing gear fully extended. Although the front landing gear didn't change too much, the rear langing gear changed from a Technic configuration to a simpler yet just as sturdy click hinge design and slimmed down landing pad.

A minifig's eye level view of the rear of the Nasal Avenger on the ground, landing ramp up. Note the new tail gun on the underside of the main engine.

The topside gun turret, still my favorite feature.

Captain Nibs Ahnee and Zog pose alongside their trusty ship. The doors to the internal missile bay are open to reveal four SS-45 "Snot Rockets."

In this view, you can see the outboard thruster (far left) rotated to landing position as well as the landing ramp down (with Russ Russell walking up). This view also offers a look at the new underside tail gun from a different angle.

Nibs supervises as Zog services the underside internal weapons bay, with Russ's assistance. Note the how the ship sits higher on it's upgraded landing gear, which I extended to allow for better access underneath. This view also offers a closer look at the detail of the redesigned wing-mounted laser cannons.

The Dipwads, from left to right: gunner and mechanic Mikey Nubbins, Captain Nibs Ahnee, First Officer and pilot Russ Russell, and engineer and scientific genius alien dude Zog.

A view of the underside details and the landing gear fully retracted. To watch the landing gear open in sequence, click on this image in my Brickshelf folder and then click next and so on.

The door to the internal weapons bay on the underside of the ship.

The door open with a rack of space charges ready for deployment. The space charges are similar in concept to the seismic charges in Jango Fett's Slave 1, designed to fend off pursuers.

I must ape Mr. Rutherford's sentiments here. Daniel, you were the first builder I put as my favorite and I continue to use your Explorer and the various incarnations of this beauty as a litmus test for quality builds. REAL quality builds! This MOTD seems long overdue and truly NOT unexpected. Congratulations.

Congratz on MOTD. What an incredible remarkable build from 2004. I was still in my totally dark ages when you build this masterpiece.

I think that the snot rocket may be the most terrifying force in the galaxy. But really, I think that this ship is the most beautifully-wrought and intelligently-greebled, sleekly-articulated anatomy-based design I've seen on MOCpages. I mean, Master Shifu has some potty-humor builds which contain anatomical innuendoes, but not su well-rendered, and naturally-colored (thank God!).

Mr. Jassim, this was one of the first MOCs I ever saw that made me think: So, this is how good a Lego model can be! This is how far we can take Lego models if we really WORK AT IT! The Nasal Avenger, along with the Dragonstar, really opened my eyes to the possibilities of larger scale AND the use of comedy in presentation. These two MOCs provided an early, solid, and high standard against which I continue to judge many MOCs today. Unique, well built, well presented, and all that with a dash of good humor. I wish you would build some more. I often wonder where your creative abilities can take you today. Attack!

Hilariously accurate and detailed design. I could see this craft sneezing its way through space at FTL speeds (albeit in fits and starts, and... backwards =D ) Gratz on MoTD!

This just has to be my favourite lego creation of all time. It's just so goddam detailed. And it's got a manned turret. The landing fear, the hidden missiles, greebles; everything about it equated to one breathtaking model.

although i don't have the picture of it on my page yet (nor anything else :P) the nasal avenger has inspired the creation of one of my craft called the Hayden. that proves that you are an inspiration to me. your first and original nasal avenger was cool when i saw it, and now the 3rd...is there anything you can't accomplish in lego?

Dan - this ship is by far my favorite out of all your creations. It has so many coolio features; from the landing gear, to the bubble-top turret, to the bombs underneath... aaggghhh! Just simply amazing to look at. The lights for the engines and your photo editing space scenes made me late for work the other morning.... Thanks! ~ Paul
