Although lego tries to better themselves each year, some kits
are never really matched, or replaced, also, used kits are often much cheaper,
that s why it s so smart to get vintage kits.
Michael Rutherford once called me the Steven Speilberg of moc pages,
well, I made him right by getting this awesome kit! lol.
Seriously, I always wanted to have this, just did nt think I d get it whole,
a good stroke of luck, since it s not even opened!
Most of the electronic stuff is obsolete, but, I wanted it mostly for symbolical reasons!
as I really want to make lots of movies with my collection.
This kit was nt on my list, but, when you get it as cheap as I got it,
it s something you ll regret to have let pass forever!
Same goes for this one, + it had lots of cool parts I wanted for a long time!
[wheels, hairs ect]
This was in the same lot, I never let pass rocks, and some castle suits where
quite nice and rare.
Same lot, tracks and orange trans, + the weird green aliens.
Same lot, I want to make big cars someday. [after my movie of October]
Same lot, this weird pirate kit of wich my flee market friend sold me the hull,
I am currently at work on a car ferry, but, it was too short,
imagine my surprise when I realized this was where it came from,
+ the bigger figs will fit the bigger cars.
Of all the lot, this was the reason I went to see the guy!
the biggest city ship!
I ll completely remodel it, I wanted this ship for a very long time,
I m very happy to finally have it!
This was from the collection of Gaetan, everything he sold me was in pristine condition,
this monorail was no exception, it will be featured, remodeled in my next GF faction piece that I m working on right now...
I m not trough buying vintage kits, I m on the hunt for more monorail parts,
classic space, and aquanauts kits, that where never really surpassed in my opinion,
but, I d like yours!
wich kits do you think one should absolutely get???
Quoting Caleb of Enalica
depending on the guy, it s all different people, but, now, I just met a guy who s interested in selling a big collection for $5ooo! it s mostly city and cowboys, trains, I might sell parts of it, and keep the 2 monorails, I have another who sells me his technics collection for $200. it s worth about $1000!
I acquired a few space and blacktron vintages, it will add quality to the genesis serie, it should be even more interesting to follow, as, opposition will be much greater now, you can see the teaser here;
Quoting LukeClarenceVan The Revanchist
thanks Luke! lol, you have the monorail fever too? wait u til you see my next piece, it s just what the doctor ordered! lol.
I could nt believe my eyes when I saw it in it s box, it s pristine!
Nice haul Cyberfrank! I used to own that big truck; took it apart years ago. Still, it does yield some very good parts :-) I responded to your comment on my MOC. I'm interested in this Maglev device. Send me an Email via a comment on my MOC; I'll delete that comment ASAP to protect your identity :-)
Quoting Carlo Brunelli
thanks Carlo! only the lego studio was sealed, all where complete except the creator set wich missed 2 wheels unfortunately, but, when you get them for $20 when they re worth $60, it s not too bad, they came from a guy who sold his own collection, there is an internet site in Canada called kijiji, where people put adds to sell their used things, but, flee markets are a nice place too.
Quoting clayton Marchetti
thanks Clayton! the ship s cabin is quite small, but, wait until I re-design it, I m quite into ships these days, it s timing, as opportunity strikes now, even lego just released a friends cruiser that I fancy, I m dreaming about buying 2 to make a large luxury cruiser yacht now... for my Genesis serie, I need to get more space kits to make sure it s fab!
Quoting Clovis Blain
thanks Clovis! yeah, vintage kits will do that, it happened to me the first time when I bought Gaetan s kits, as, some of his pieces I had when I was very young, the ambulance in Dexterville for instance, was the last kit I ever bought with my own pocket allowance money!
Quoting Sebeus I
thanks Sebeus! yes, Gaetan told me they where quite expensive, the bad part about them though is, that you can t expand the train itself, it s limited to the original length, I m still happy with it, but, it s more limited than I first figured.
Wow man it's weird seeing the old knights sets I was sad when they stopped them I used to play with the figs for hours! If I were to get vintage lego sets I would get the lego system ones the very old ones with the 2 high 2 wide doors you'll se what I mean in one of my mocs coming up ( posting random peices and little things that don't get there own mocpage) :p nice haul!
