Fangdare EX2
Back with a vengeance.
About this creation
Following the failure of the previous unit, the Fangdare EX1 (Extraterrestrial eXaminer), Mad Mechs launched a second variant, the EX2. However, as the first unit was being powered up, a power surge reacted with it's core, resulting in a rip in space around the robot. In seconds, the unit was flung through the warp along with a chunk of the lab. It powered up in a strange environment, which it's sensors could only identify as "Strata Magna"...

Off the Wall:

Phew, that was fun. I built this about a week ago, then it ended up on my desk as I tweaked it (and procrastinated over it) throughout to how it is now. I would have wanted to bulk up the cannon around the joint a bit more, but it would have left it being too flimsy to hold itself up.

This is for The Contest Group's current 2-week contest, Redesign a Moc. I chose this bad boy: the Fangdare EX1. What can I say - it was badly built, badly screenshotted, and badly received. It needed an upgrade, and heck, it got one...

A few similarities to compare: the feet share the same 2-toe design, the legs are chicken-like as in the original, both have a tail, and both take inspiration from a raptor-like design. This version just has some weapons instead of absurdly big hands...

Sorry for being late, I could get MOCpages to work Saturday. Anyway, Build: 9 BIO-MOCs aren't my speciality, but this guy looks cool. The use of parts are great. That Inika foot for the head, the wide build, and OH MAI GAWD, ITZ BULKEH! Design: 3 This is what happens when a MOC takes steroids. It's such a physical shift, it almost doesn't read as a redesign unless told. The build is great and it does share elements, but then there is room for so much more detail because of the size difference. System to BIO-MOC was a neat idea, but it's just really different. Presentation: 5 How hard could that have been? :) 17/20
