About this creation
Yeehr! MocOlympics!

Category: "The 12 Signs of the Zodiac."
I choosed the Leo.

Let me show you this mystic creature in one of Cicero metamorphoses.
The myth of Pyramus and Thisbe.

Pyramus and Thisbe are madly in love and live in houses next to each other. Their parents forbid their romance and build a wall between the houses. The lovers find a chink in the wall through which they speak and kiss one another. One night they decide to run away together, meeting at a mulberry tree. Thisbe arrives first, and she sees a terrifying lion with blood in its mouth. She runs away in fear, dropping her cloak. The lion tears up the cloak and bloodies it. When Pyramus arrives, he sees the cloak, assumes his lover has died, and kills himself in sorrow. Thisbe returns, sees Pyramus' body, and kills herself with the same knife. From then on, mulberries take on the dark red color of their blood, making the lovers' bond eternal.

BTW: This was a big inspiration for Shakespears Romeo and Juliet.

And now in bricks!

Pyramus and Thisbe

The powerful lion:

The bloody cloak:

Pyramus has already killed himself. Thisbe realizes Pyramus suicide and decides to follow him.

The blood of the two get in the roots and the whole tree, so the mulberrys become red.

Leo's recent kill:

Good luck all contestants!

Thank you Deus for blogging. You are right, the tail could get an improvement in colour. But i liked the the shape of this piece. And at a mystic lion everything is possible :P

Lion's tail is off though. I am pretty sure the orange would only be at the tip.

Quoting LukeClarenceVan The Revanchist Phenomenal lion design and I love that irregular base. I'm not sold on the tree, I think the leaves are arranged without much depth. However, the trunk is good. The photography, while really crisp, seems too bright for this sad scene. I don't feel the atmosphere here, a dark background would help a lot. Still, the build itself is very good.
Hey Luke, i'm glad you like my creation. You are right, a darker background would have been much better. But i don't have the equipment to photograph bigger MOCs in front of grey paper. The sheet i have is only big enough for small creations (like the lion alone). Maybe i can get a bigger one, so i can win the next photograph-contest ;)

Fantastic work Jonas. That lion is spectacular. Clean and clever. Love the half eaten horse, never thought of taking them apart like that. Truly innovative techniques. Excellent!

Very nice build. The lion is top-notch and the landscaping, especially the texturing around the tree, the tree itself, and the stone, is spectacular. The irregular base was a great touch. Good luck!

Quoting bill daniels You broke the horse. But good job with the lion.
The horse is not broken! Like i wrote on flickr it's possible to seperate the halfs puristic: This was a really yellowish horse, so i tried it. You have to push the legs apart. First the front legs, than the back legs and again the front legs and so on. It takes long, but if you have a little grap at the neck or the tail you can use your thumbnail to speed it. But i'm not sure if this is possible with all horses. I take a look at the new ones but i don't think you can do it without breaking them. I could all the time take the other half and rebuild the horse.

Quoting Disco Chicken I don't mean to be rude, but is it really necessary to put blood on everything!! It's kinda just sick.
I'm normally not such a fan of blood. But in this case it was necessery because the story doesn't "work" without blood. Would be the same if you build Star Wars without Spaceships.
