The second installment to my new CYOA series, Spark Of The Rain.
About this creation
Tybalt was asleep, oblivious to any kind of commotion going on. The night before, he had been hoping for an adventure of some kind to come his way. Despite the fact that he was an expert hunter and archer, he considered his life to be boring. All that was about to change when Jake burst through the door.
Jake: Tybalt! Hurry up and get dressed! Gather your weapons too! Now!
Tybalt: Wait! Wh-what's happ-
Jake: No time to explain! Hurry!
Ten minutes, later a very curious but worried Tybalt rushed out the door with Jake. He didn't know why Jake was running, and he rarely did unless he needed to. This made Tybalt worried.
Suddenly two black clad men stepping in their way, swords raised in front of them. Tybalt stopped short, and gasped. "
Tybalt(whisper): Who are these men?
Jake(whisper): The poison province.
Tybalt's heart froze. Their old enemy was back. He was only a very young child when they had been defeated, so he didn't remember anything, but Jake had taught him about them. Right now the most important information of all that he knew was that they were the enemy. Tybalt grabbed an arrow from his quiver and clipped it to the string of his bow, but didn't pull back yet.
Hooded man: Halt! You're not going anywhere!
Jake: Oh, yes we are! Now please be kind enough to let us through.
Hooded man: No, I don't-
Right in the middle of his sentence Jake released a burst of air through the palm of his hand. It slammed into the chest of the hooded man who hurled back through the air. The man accompanying him glanced at his flying comrade and then turned back towards Tybalt and Jake.
Brown haired man: Hey! Take this!
Out of his hand a bright green jet burst forward towards Tybalt. Jake held up his staff and a transparent barrier appeared. The jet hit the barrier and exploded, preventing the spell from hitting Tybalt. Jake prepared to fire a spell towards the man but-
-a jet of fire suddenly hit man on the back and burst into a shower of flames. The man let out an agonizing scream and collapsed on the path in front of the two, dead. Tybalt gasped, surprised at the sudden attack. He looked up and saw his two friends Drake and Ender running towards them. Drake had obviously fired the spell, evident by the fire he held in his hands.
Ender: We all have to leave! Terbuth is being destroyed!
Jake: What? I thought it was just us!
Drake: Who's doing this though?
Jake: It's the poison province, they've come back, though I didn't even know they were still alive!
Ender: Right now we should just concentrate on getting out of here! More than half of Terbuth is destroyed already!
Aaaaaaah!! Drake and Ender turned around and saw another poison province member running towards them. He swung his sword out and-
-Drake blocked the blow, but as the man was preoccupied with Drake, Ender stabbed the man through the stomach. The man's expression quickly changed from a furious look to a grimace of pain. Ender pulled the sword out and the man fell, dead before he even hit the ground.
The two teenagers stared at the body for a little bit, shocked at the fact that they had just killed another human being.
Ender: Should we leave? Or should we stay and try to fight?
Sorry if you think that this chapter is so short. I wanted to get this done so that I can build for the MocOlympics and the Reading Olympics.
