Large Scissors Lift
R&K Technologies & Equipment (RKTECH Equipment) Large Scissors Lift.
About this creation
This is one of my recent realistic construction vehicle models. It takes inspiration from some of the lifts I use at work. It is roughly to scale: If a minifigure measures ~6 ft, this lift goes from ~7.5 ft to ~33 ft (floor height). The lift has 3 sets of cross arms. The basket has guardrails, a safety chain, a ladder and controls and can extend.

The basket.

Raised partially.

Raised halfway.

Raised all the way.

Another view raised.

Wow, that's a really long way down!

And now, for an all-new feature that I have never seen on any LEGO model or moc, a basket extension!

Fully extended. It extends about 3 studs.

Another view of the extension.

View of the rear, showing the steps.

View of the front showing the simulated steering rod.

With the demonstrator guy.

I have plans and ideas for several more sizes and types of lifts, as well as some other construction equipment. Coming soon!

Cool build! I hope that guy isn't afraid of heights!

Very nice job! I've always wanted to build one of these, but somehow have never gotten around to it.

Quoting Andrew McPherson Interesting design...besides building it in other sizes, are you planing on other colour schemes?
No, I'm trying to make a common color scheme for all my construction equipment, unless I make a very realistic model of a real lift, then I might make it in that company's color scheme.

Cool. I will steal the idea for my concert stage.

Quoting Michael K. How does it lock in place?
It doesn't lock, it simply uses black friction pegs to stay up and slides in the bottom and under the basket.

Quoting David Roberts Absolutely brilliant. Working features in a nice looking Town model. It's the sort of thing that Lego should be making as a fun, playable set. Just one thing - I think that your mini-figs need to wipe their feet before they climb onboard. The black plate that makes the platform looks like it could do with a scrub ;)
Thanks for the nice words! Yeah, the lifts we use at work are like that too! :P Need to wash some of my older parts!
