About this creation
I am going to make the lord of the rings in a Lego picture story!.

I going to be BIG!!!!!!!!!

so I need your opinion on if I should do it by the books or by the movie.

if I did it by the book I would need to read them of course which would take a long time
and I would need to get a Lego set

but if I did it by the movie I would only need to get one or two Lego sets

so tell me what you think!

look the name up in the search (below)

the lord of the rings story in Lego full
then go to groups and you will find my group
(it has the same picture)

Seeing that you can do green screen, this should be pretty good.

I'd love to see it. Best of luck if you decide to go through with it. Also, I recommend do the movie.

I was actually thinking of doing something similar to this a while back. Anyway, go by the book and not the movie. Going according to the book gives you more freedom in the way everything appears, which makes building easier.

I'd recommend books, since they allow for more creative interpretation.

hmm... here you got interesting sides of a decision. Well, if you choose the Movies, than less money with Legos; but then all you would do is recreating something that someone has already imagined and directed. if you choose the books, than you would spend more money on plastic bricks. on the other hand, you would imagine the scenes all by yourself and could work on them. That, in my opinion, is more interesting, cause Lego was created to induce you to use your creativity more. I would choose the books way, even if it takes longer to be made. Remember, hurry is enemy of perfection. but if you don't have money to spend on much Sets, so choose the movies. you can also make a great Moc based on them :D

hard to see it's lego! nice job!!

I think you should go by the movies so people will know which scenes are which. I'm not saying that the books are confusing, but I think the movies may be a little easier to understand.

Good luck making them! I know it's expensive, but if you're gonna to make something like that, you're gonna need the whole Fellowship and pretty much every single character. If you want, you could make your own Wormtongue or anybody in an expensive set. I would do the book even if it does take some time to read. It's worth it! There is so much in the book that's not in the movie! Tom Bombadil, Farmer Maggot etc. But whatever works for you! Do your very best! :) Again, good luck!

Um, consider both the book and the movie, but as you focus on different aspects, make sure it's still consistent and accurate.

Quoting Freeling . I don't know.. If I were to do something like this, I'd do it by the book, because you can imagine what the places looked like, and just build them. But if you were to do it by the movie it would have to be all accurate and stuff. Remember to put time in your builds, make it look like the photos are photos of the actual world with mountains in the background, and not just a small plate with figs on it, showing a white background.
all good I can do green screen! :)
