The Tale of Arian...
About this creation

The Rainosian city of Guaire is known far and wide for its massive, crimson walls and towers. It sits, surrounded by a desert like plain. Guaire's guard towers can see miles across the desert, and because of this, attacks on the city is unheard of. It is here that the Tale of Arian brings us to...

Barbarian: Anything out of the ordinary today?
Guard: No. No travelers so far.
Barbarian: Why bother being on guard then?
Guard: Because you lot never guard!
Barbarian: Because we don't need to!
Guard: Well, think about it like this: If you're on guard and a Mythronian comes, you get some action!
Barbarian: When you put it like that... Wait, someone's coming!

Guard: Halt! You have arrived at the Crimson City! State your business! (To the barbarian) What good are those guard towers if no one pays any attention...

A single figure approached the guards.
Rego Arian: I come to enter the city. I wish to recruit soldiers for my campaign against Mythron.
Barbarian: Ha, ha, a one-man campaign against Mythron!
Guard: You may enter then traveler.

Rego grinned as he passed through the massive gateway.

Arian: And so it begins...

Rego emerged onto the red streets of Guaire.

???: Wait! Are you Rego Arian?
Arian: Yes... and who might you be?
???: I go by the name Veran, and I'm an advisor of king Bartok.
Arian: What does the king want with me?
Veran: Well... erm... Let's go somewhere more private. Follow me.

Rego followed the man.

The two emerged on the top of one of the guard towers.

Veran: Excuse us, if you will, gentlemen.

The guards promptly left their posts, happy to get a break.

Veran: Now that we are alone... here.

The man handed Rego a letter.

Veran: Open it.

Rego read the letter.

Arian: The king wishes me to be the steward and general of this city!

Veran: Yes! He has sought out those most like in mind to him, and wishes to make them generals. War is coming, and we will be prepared... So do you accept?

Arian: Of course!

Veran: Well then, I wish you luck.

The man departed, leaving Arian alone.

Arian: The chance to grow an army and fight Mythron... What more could I ask for?

Rego, the new lord of Guaire, stared into the distance. He was a threat now, and soon all Mythron would know his name...

A few shots of just the build.

The complete tower.

I love the groundwork.

A few figless shots.

I love the details of this tower... too bad it isn't complete.

Creators Comments:
This was a pretty quick build. Used up pretty much all my light bley and dark red 1x2s. I wish I'd completed both towers, but I didn't have a big enough base or enough parts. Anyway, hope you enjoyed. :D

Quoting Lego Obsessionist The red really makes it unique, but I wish the red portions were less blocky. Maybe a more mottled pattern? Very cool towers, though.
Thanks!

Quoting Gilbert Despathens This is an impressive gateway. Now I feel like I should add an extra floor to my upcoming MOC to keep up. The projecting crenellations around the tower tops are excellent. I've never been much good at those, and this gives me an idea or two for the future. Your color scheme is also a striking feature, not at all reminiscent of my favorite kind of plasma. First Arian passes purple pools, then he becomes lord of a red city... What's next, a flaming orange sea serpent?
Thanks Gilbert! No, no, my next MOC is built, but after that, who knows...? ;)
